Congrats!
And another OW/W book becomes W. See, this, and the inverse, over and over.
Paying a premium for W page designation is

All things else being equal, you have to be a special kinda, well, something, to pay more, let alone A LOT more, for a white pages copy, especially if it has moderate Marvel chipping. Mind boggling.

still some exceptions out there (i.e. Hulk 181 in 9.8 that just sold for $ and the known keys) plus a few others like the B&B 28 in 5.5 that realized a nice price on the link. Also a few other DC keys. But I agree seems to be a bit of a slow down w the holidays/inflation/rates, etc....and then there is the big heritage auctions coming up (looking forward to the B&B 28 in 8.5)
What did the B&B 28 in 5.5 fetch?

A decent wrap and registration on this book is actually the hardest thing to find

I think buyers might simply be getting more picky about QP. Much like ASM 100, this book just looks so much better without white showing. Black covers deserve that respect
Would you rather have this 9.8 or 3 nicely centered 9.6s?
I went shopping for a nice X-MEN 140 ( fave x-book ) last night. That book has a 3:1 value ratio for 9.8/9.6
Thought about grabbing a 3-pack of 9.6s and browsed a bit. Not being an investment book but one for my PC....I went with a single 9.8
I kinda regret not going the 9.6 multiple route already. There’s a certain joy that multiples bring

The wrap I feel is pretty decent but some feel very strongly about a perfect one which probably also held back some bids. Thing is earlier this year it still would have hit 4.5K regardless. I still expect something in the way of dead cat bounces (get it ) but I think on the whole new lows will continue to be tested for at least the next year.
Those looking to pick up a 9.6 may be in very good shape in the short and mid-term,with longer term also being possible, as those prices drop.On 11/10/2022 at 9:18 PM, BigLeagueCHEW said:Well this just happened, I think we are nearing a slump, maybe the 11K layoff at Meta is causing woes for some buyers?

White pages
But I'm sure there's something I'm missing that will explain away this low result....
Does direct/newsstand matter at all for this time era?
$197 premium for the thin white line and custom label it seems.

What is the percentage of books in the holders that have the right side of the cover folded down in spots? 98%? 99?

boy that's a disappointingly lame copy for having belonged to ditko!
It actually looks exactly like what I pictured a Ditko copy to look like.

I'm OK with this wrap. No white stripe on the front. Much better this way than in the other direction.
I think thin, white spine is waaaay preferable to this. I think it almost looks as good as a perfect wrap. Frames it

It does need to be said, I've seen OW/W become W on a resub, as well as the the other way around, many, many times. White page premium is a certain percentage "buying the label" over OW/W.

Hahaha sure the price 6.5's were selling for a few months back this is a rare 8.5 it will blow past that amount.
CL just had a AF15 CGC 0.5 had a 15k offer yesterday and BIN 20k and it seems like it sold. Sure AF15 is crashing give me a break.
Ooops. I thought this was an 8.0 for some reason. Yeah, it'll do far better than $200k. A 7.5 went for $198k in August. That's what I was basing it on.

I dunno, I think it might just stay there at $115K.
I think it will get to $200k, or at least close

The final price was $598.88 with a postage charge of $60.21. The purchaser, I surmise, was in the UK.
Impressive sale!

Crease on top right, plus stain, as well as the general wear, tops it out there for me.
