I need this book to help fill my Batman 1-100 set but unfortunately it's out of my price range by a couple thousand

Also if I were to resubmit this and have the tape removed by CCS would the book be considered "conserved" if the tape is removed?

Hello,
If a book has staples replaced it will generally receive a conserved grade. However, if there is tape present on the book in addition to the staples being replaced, then it will only receive a qualified grade. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks @MattM CS
Just tape on a book is universal, replaced staples and no tape is conserved, replaced staples and tape is qualified.

Bingo! Non-archival tape is not an acceptable conservation material. Definitely not something a pro would use.
So in theory if I completely remove the tape it would grade as conserved

@CGC Mike Can you assist? Or point me in the right direction?
-
I think it's because of the tape... I'm going to post on Ask CGC. Thanks!

I keep having my emails to CGC returned/rejected? I'm trying to setup a possible restoration/conservation appraisal.

Am I correct in stating that if you replace the staples on a book, no married cover or pages, it would be a green label?
purple or conserved if you use period staples?

Actually I believe they updated their policy on this. If you use period correct staples and no other work has been done ( not added pages, married cover , etc ) then it could get a Conserved label.
OK thanks... What about non period staples?

Am I correct in stating that if you replace the staples in a book, no married cover or pages it would be a green label or purple if you use "vintage" staples.
