Here ya go. Not worth much, but kinda cool to find.
Oooo, that is a nice find.
It would be a shame putting that in the new CGC slab, the rest of the book would look normal covered in Newton rings

Found a Wildcats 2 with all the silver removed from the
cover a neat production screw up. I will post a pic tomorrow
That's the newsstand version

Yep, same story with me. It's been 2 years since this op started. 1 year since a refunds were announced. I reached out to the artist and his rep earlier this week to find out what was really going on. Found out only 2 sketches were completed , and our requests were never even submitted. Basically we just signed up to give a 2+ year no interest loan.
I know Mr Mylar had family issues during this time. It's just hard being understanding and patient when things drag out this long. Not to mention the false promises and being screwed over by other facilitators that have disappeared.

Keith is a super easy to deal with Board member. Sold him a couple of items and he paid right away. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Awesome member!

I always received an email from cgc with tracking info until sometime last year. I checked my email junk folder and never received any updates, so I assumed CGC stopped doing this service. Then I updated my email preferences on my CGC account. All I did was check to receive "Special CGC News Announcements". I have received shipping updates again since then.

It's been 6 months since I was told I was supposed to receive my refund "soon"
I swear I have the worst luck with ops
Sorry to hear bud. On a positive note your MOS books were signed this past weekend's Magic City Comic Con and driven over to CGC yesterday
Thanks, Daniel
I had no worries you'd get them done

Sorry man, this sucks.
I think CGC should put in a rule that there needs to be a HARD DEADLINE for sketch opps to be done. It can be anything, but it needs to be stated up front so people know. And if the deadline can't be met, there should be a HARD DEADLINE for how soon people get refunded. And when money can't be refunded by that time for any reason, the CGC account of the facilitator should be SUSPENDED until all obligations are met, meaning no submissions, no witnessing. They collected the money and are acting as an agent, and would generally be considered liable from a legal perspective, and should be treated as such.
I get that many times the facilitators are not the reason for delays, but NO ONE IS FORCING anyone to facilitate a sketch opp. I'm not saying they should be punished, but they should be forced to CAREFULLY EVALUATE if they ARE SURE they can facilitate the opp in a timely manner (part of the facilitation is managing the talent), and that it will be worth all the time and effort, and IF ITS NOT WORTH IT, then the facilitator should not undertake the opp.
I agree 100%
Out of the 4 missing facilitators that owe me money, this is probably the only one who will make things right.

Got my copy of Harby 1 last year (sold my OO copy many years ago after buying 2 copies of the newsstand) it was the last issue I needed to complete my Pre-Unity and Unity Valiant collection. Proudly displayed in my signature line
There's a newsstand version? How can you tell the difference?

I posted in the pm thread but I think there might be one op participant who isn't included so:
I'm finally out of this op with a full refund including fees and my blank. Mike and I had communication over the last few months via email and I'm happy to put this to bed. I've no ill feelings towards Mike, I know challenges outside of the boards can drastically affect things and I hope things look up for him.
It was my first participation in a sketch op on these boards and an unfortunate one. I've had one sketch arranged and completed at a convention via a facilitator which was fantastic and likely to only collect these from the artists themselves as that direct connection adds a lot more to the experience.
I'm not opposed to sketch ops on the boards, but there needs to be a whole lot more communication from whomever runs them at all times. I don't know if CGC take on board how many of these get completed but I'm all good now and hope anyone else outstanding will be as well soon.
Thanks for the update. It's unfortunate that we won't receive our sketches, but at least this long overdue opp will finally come to an end soon

Is it possible for that to happen after slabbing?
Probably damage from before slabbing.
Doesn't look like taco juice, could be CAK juice.

Yeah a Voldemort 9.6 . I can't take a good picture of the top staple but it has a bit of noticeable rust next to the paper , and what looks like transfer to the paper. I'm sure the inside has issues too. The Foxing/ staining is light but still fugly for a 9.6.
-
After 38 days, I finally received my slab today. CAK really does know how to stuff a big box, and used lots of protection.
Now for some eBay feedback.....
Wish I could leave feedback for Voldemort. For a 9.6 it sure has a lot of issues on the back cover, that I couldn't see in the blurry eBay pic. A little rust on the staples, dirt and some foxing also. I'm really tempted to send it to CGC to see how bad it really is. O well, cheap lesson learned I guess.
Are you sure it's rust? Rust on a 1990 staple doesn't sound right, at least not this early (maybe in another 15 or so years).

what reason would there be to get that kind of a book slabbed. send it back and be done with it.
I'm keeping it . It's not the sellers fault Voldomert sucks.

I think this is the book in question:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Men-268-CBCS-CGC-NM-9-6-JC-Penney-Vintage-Pack-1992-Reprint-/201398457693
and this is probably the same user, or he did it to two people at the same time:
Looks like CAK got his first neg...for late shipping.
that's why i linked it. Could be multiple stuff to the same seller, or two people at once

That negative feedback is from another buyer.

I have sent CopperAgeKids a PM about requesting he should be added to the probation list for the following reason:
On September 23, 2015 I purchased a slab from him on eBay. A tracking number was updated the same day. 9449009699938804728686
On October 11th I sent him this message thru eBay:
"Dear copperagekids,
What's going on with this book? A shipping label was printed a couple weeks ago, but tracking shows it never was shipped."
His response:
New message from: copperagekids (97Blue Star)
"My apologies for the delay, got slammed with overtime at work. The package will be shipped as soon as the post office open on Tuesday, the USPS is closed tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience"
On October 20th I open a request thru eBay asking for an update.
Seller's message:
"The piece will be shipped tomorrow, without fail. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay. Thank you for your patience, Evan O'Malley"
There still isn't any activity on the tracking number, and it has been over 30 days since purchasing the slab.
Did you get your books?
The tracking number shows it won't arrive until at least Saturday. Media mail cross country usually takes over a week for me.
It's been 30 days. Did you agree to a delay in shipping? Did you agree to Media Mail? You nominated him over 72 hours ago. I would say you're within your rights to have him added to the Probation List and if/when you receive the book, he can ask you to have him removed from the list. Thoughts?
When I purchased the slab the listing showed that it was Free Economy Shipping. Did he have an option for Priority shipping as he does in some of his other items? IDK, I didn't pay attention. It probably wouldn't have made a difference on the long delay.
The only thing that got him motivated was the threat of being on the Probation list. I'm ok with either waiting till my package arrives, or adding him now. Rules are rules tho.

I had planned on cracking it out and turning it yellow. With all the new case drama, I'm glad I just had Staples sign the case.
