  1. Darkhawk%20001_zpsltdalwer.jpg

Finally got around to sending some of my Darkhawk stash in to get graded. Really happy with this one. I tried researching the JC Penny/Sears/Stridex/MVP to find out what kind of print run these had. All the old links I found were not working anymore. It seems like most of these second prints are easy to find, but for whatever reason this one is the hardest to find. I have another one being SS, but it's 9.4-9.6 tops

  2. .. just get the proper drivers.

I had the proper drivers for the HP 8300. However, every few scans, either the software would lock up, or the scanner would stop scanning about 1/2 way through.

I got VueScan and have never had a problem since.

    Hello!

I just brought a HP 300 because all of the comments here. But I got the same problem as Kaptain here but using VueScan do the same thing :(

I can only scan once. The first time it scan 50% of the image, I wait like 30 seconds then the rest show. Then when I want to scan another image it simply stop arounf 50% again and bug and I must restart the computer.

I got the latest drivers from the HP site. Anybody got an idea here ??? Thanks!

Had similar issues with mine. I got my scanner working on my computer with VueSan, but it was buggy. Ended up uninstalling VueScan and the stock Windows 8 software started working, it worked good for a couple weeks then it started freezing up again. I gave up and just use my laptop with Vista now. Never had an issue after that.

  3. I saw somewhere that an HP 8200 was recommended. I finally got the eBay seller to answer and she said the flatbed was only 11 x 8.5.

Is the 8250 the larger size in the series? I have a very old G4010 that does OK, but of course the entire slab does not fit...and it's pretty slow.

Looking at the specs on Amazon and they have the same 8.5 x 14 scan area, the only thing I saw different was the 8250 had the auto feeder on top. (shrug)

  4. Bought a used hp 8250 to scan my slabs from eBay, no software included so went online and downloaded the driver for Windows 8.1. The scanner acted like it was going to work since the scanner light up and moved to the other side but it slammed hard and continued to make some weird nose like the scan head couldn't move on its other axis (if it does have another axis), I tried to download different software for older Windows versions since there isn't any 8.1. Seems like it's a hardware issue but wanted to see if anyone had this problem before I go "office space" on it

I'm not running 8.1, but I downloaded the generic 8200 driver and it works fine. I'm not a big techie guy, so I can't offer any advice. Any chance of setting up a profile with an older Windows version...?

I'm going to try to use an old laptop with Vista on it, hopefully that will work. All the noise in the scanner worried me but hopefully it's just a software issue.

    Thanks for the reply guys

  6. Here's probably the toughest Darkhawk comic to find in HG. The JC Penney reprint of Darkhawk #5. The JC Penney second printing has a 30th anniversary Amazing Spider-Man logo in place of the direct Captain America logo or the regular news stand logo. It also has 'second printing' located on the 1st interior page like other Marvel 2nd prints of the time.

I just found a copy and I thought this would be the perfect place to share.

Someone is selling a copy for a few dollars. Seller probably doesn't know it's worth millions

I finally found one myself that should be 9.6-9.8 :headbang:
