  1. What up 'reezy. That was actually a "best offer" accepted for $1100. *Edit- Yes that was the copy RMA sold to that guy four months ago (for $1150). -J. Thanks jay! I always have issues when looking up through Watch count.
  2. Saga has highs and lows. Best time to buy is when the book is on its scheduled hiatus.
  3. No remark for me either. Also, looks like the black panther sketch is still chugging along. $1500 sold price for a 9.6 a few days ago. http://m.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-PANTHER-1-CGC-9-6-NM-J-SCOTT-CAMPBELL-PARTIAL-SKETCH-VARIANT-2009-/361755858275?hash=item543a545563%3Ag%3AxiIAAOSw4shX8om3&_trkparms=pageci%253A90c71fe7-dce1-11e6-a684-74dbd1808fc4%257Cparentrq%253Aada8468e1590a2a21500552fffb9c0df%257Ciid%253A1 If anyone has any Campbell sketches on blanks. I'll be willing trade my 9.8 for a few .
  4. It may have somewhat of a connection for a select few, but I'd say it is mainly due to the limited amount available and the outstanding story and art that continues to win awards. Best cover art of the entire run. Most rare and this series is the best modern out right now.
  5. Sad news. My thoughts and prayers go out to Raph and his family.
  6. Campbell replied to someone on IG saying that he would see if he can randomly put a remark on some unsigned orders. If a boardie gets it, let's see them! Glad to know that there is still a chance.... Looks like Campbell stuck to his word. The guy that pulled a remark on his video ordered an unsigned set. Congrats to the guy that pulled it!0
  7. Sweet spidey sketch! BTW. Is this thread just for sketches done in 2017 or can it be sketches that we added to our collection this year?
  8. Nice grab silver surfer. Crazy how del otto's pencils and shadings are so tight on a prelim.
  9. Just mod an old ps3. Then load it with with mame, nes, snes, genesis, etc. best way to go. Ps3s can handle a 500 gig drive.
  10. OA collectors don't really care for coa. Thanks for the feedback Is it because of any certain idea? such as Artist's signature or it's obvious that it is a particular peice from a Comic: cover, splash page, etc. and not a recreate? Just curious, because of uproar over witness CGC sketches, sigs, etc.------idk I can read it in OA forum, I've already read a little but it was all still a little fuzzy, didn't know if there was a short answer.... OA collectors have been around long before cgc or witnesses. Someone can easily make a faKe COA as well. If it's a published piece for a big artist mcfarlane, lee, miller people will likely know if it's real. Smaller artists is another story. Perhaps hardcore OA collectors can chime in on this and provide their take.

  12. I didn't. If I would have known about it beforehand, I would have. -J. Back up http://www.ebay.com/itm/351952687118?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Thanks man. Not quite as enthusiastic at over triple the price though. -J. I bit on it and bought it but interestingly enough it says "sold for $1,000 USD" but that's not what I offered, paid for it? You were the buyer for $750? Why does eBay not release final best offer price ? Weird
  13. Did you request those candidates? or do they always send great copies? I obviously cannot speak for Starlord, but I have never requested 9.8 candidates and with the exception of ONE book (Thor) everything I have received from the JSC store has been 9.8-esque. And I've ordered nearly every signed book he's offered since early 2015. They ship very well. Most of the time the books I get are 9.8s.

  15. Very nice! Love that onslaught reborn one! "Re-discovering" his work is expensive especially when you search for his older covers in 9.8. If you ever start adding remarks or sketchcovers your wallet hurts a little more
  16. When it comes to the closing seconds of an auction , there are psychological and emotional. factors involved. I know if I'm making a play for an auction, I debate and think about doing a power bid above the initial price I had in mind. Also, have to factor in sniping programs. If there were indeed multiple offers over 7.5k with one offer at 9k. It's quite possible this book cleared 10k. We will never know.
  17. The buyer might already have those books and they come up for sale all the time. Exactly. When it comes to high dollar modern books people always bring up the fact that you can get an Af #15 , hulk #1 , hulk 181 etc. if a collector is spending 9k on a modern, chances are they have the finds to buy or already own those silver/bronze age keys. OR Perhaps they don't care for silver age or Bronze Age books? This is a possibility. I collect Bronze Age stuff and newer. When I was a kid, thats what was on the shelves/spinner rack. I read Silver Age stuff but they were all reprints like Marvel's Greatest Comics and the like. I'll buy any Silver Age book I see that is a bargain but only to sell. I don't keep any of them. Maybe somebody like that...with a lot of disposable income and a strong stomach bought it. Who knows ? Just like everything in life, stuff is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Totally agree with you ! I've come to realize that Modern variant hunters and completionists are another animal when it comes to collecting. I just find it ironic that when a silver , bronze or even a copper sells for a high $ nobody bats an eye. When a modern variant sells, people start claiming that the modern variant will be the reason why the comic industry will collapse . Btw I'd love to know the demographic buying these high dollar moderns.

OR Perhaps they don't care for silver age or Bronze Age books? BTW congrats to the seller and buyer
  19. There was a 9.6 that sold today. 2k http://m.ebay.com/itm/112255894990
  20. There were no bid retractions on that item. None. This is officially the fifth modern variant to join the "$2k Raw" club. The others are: ASM 667 (Dell'otto) Siege 3 (Campbell) Batman 608RRP (Lee) UXM 510, partial sketch (Campbell) Choke on it, haters. -J. You choke on it bro ! No hate, I just want to know what happened to you? You know that auction was shaky at best but yet you still blindly support it? You go around and bash whatever books you dont own, and blindly push what you do own. You argue mess into the ground. I do question your motives. I dont give 2 if you "never sell a book" when your spending the amount of cash that you have on books, you do care about the value! you sir are far more than a Collector only. Whatever I remember when you hated suspicious E-bay auctions? I guess thoose auctions must have been on books you did not own. When someone uses "no hate" in a sentence , chances are they are hater
