  1. My sales have picked up quite a bit this month, about double last month already. I am small potatoes, though… Bronze Black Adam books are selling well, but also She-Hulk and some oddball silver. I even sold a set of Copper DC Atom books. Only a couple of moderns sold, but the trend lines are definitely up.
  2. My own sense is the fact that it appears to say "Toed McFailrie" argues in favour of its authenticity.
  3. Congratulations… I’m sure it’s bittersweet, but it sounds like it’s happening on your terms, so well done!
  4. There's a bit of this with Doug Sulipa... He definitely is more ready to sell, but much of his massive inventory is also many, many multiples of guide. In my mind, the difference is that Sulipa actually specializes in obscure stuff that you can never find anywhere else, and in many grades. He also has a big international audience. All of this combines to make him a "destination" seller online. Paying $30 for a $1 book makes more sense when you're (for example) a passionate Great Grape Ape fan in desperate need of a copy of #2 from 1976.
  5. PRENDS-TES FLORGLE CHUTES AND SKIZZLE, YOU SNORDLE-RASSED PIMTIT!!!
  6. I think the whole series has a lot of hidden gems, and prices are starting to rise a little on a few. The first few issues had large print runs, but after that, some issues can be much harder to find. It did devolve into file stories after the first couple of years, but even then there were a lot of big names showcased in the title. I see it a little like Marvel Premiere or the later part of the Marvel Spotlight run… These are perennial dollar books, until suddenly they’re not, and everything sells for $15-20. I think Marvel Fanfare’s time will come.
  7. @Shark just posted a bunch of them in the other Whitman thread...
  8. There are definitely some changes. Whether good or bad is a matter of personal preference.
  9. An Omnibus is being released by Marvel in late October. Here's Amazon's description of content: "COLLECTING: Warrior (1982) 1-18, 20-21; Miracleman (1985) 1, 3, 6-16; Marvelman Special (1984) 1; A1 (1989) 1 [as presented in Miracleman (2014) 1-16]; All-New Miracleman Annual (2014) 1"
  10. I’m not sure how “quickly” this is happening… In my market report in the latest Overstreet (released in July, but written last December), I specifically called out video game comics as rising steadily in price. In my mind, titles like these Valiant books, DC titles like Uncharted, Dark Horse books like The Last of Us, and Marvel books like Blip have all been showing solid, continuing growth. Most ‘70s to ‘90s books with a video game connection are of increasing interest to buyers in a growing component of the back issue market. I’ve also been buying up these Valiant books whenever I see them, but that’s an increasingly rare occurrence.
  11. I had the one on the right as a kid, and once saw the same cover with a different colour background for sale in a used bookstore. Sadly, I did not buy it - nor do I have the original copy.
  12. A few other quick examples of company-bound books: Marvel UK regularly produced bound editions of their titles in the 1970s, wrapping them in a new cover with the title “Marvel Collection”; cover colour and content can vary widely Editions Heritage was a Canadian company that had licenses in the 1970s and 1980s to produce French-language editions of Marvel and DC titles for the French Canadian market; they frequently released bound editions
  13. This thread's been quiet for too long... Here are my most recent arrivals, courtesy of a seller in Wisconsin.
  14. The Fantastic Four: Full Circle limited edition Previews Exclusive slipcase hardcover by Alex Ross released last week at $40 is selling for about $150, but I haven’t seen much online chatter about it yet.
  15. I sort of went in the opposite direction... I was an early Morrison fan, but have found most of what he's done in the last decade pretty unreadable.
  16. Only if you’ve stopped getting triple what I can for the same book…
  17. So this sent me to eBay, where I still saw two copies for sale. Maybe not that rare?
  18. This solves the mystery… Apparently, the four of us found all of them.
