  1. I posted in the Jupiter's Legacy thread what Mark Millar said about pre-order sales for it (ie being at 100k+ already and beating every DC & Marvel comic that month) and everyone was like "yeah we already knew that". I don't know if it'll reach 150k, but I know for a fact it'll be over 100k (because it already was a couple of weeks ago).
  2. The Activity #1 Nathan Edmondson/Mitch Gerads Image Comics 1st Printing NM/MT http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Activity-1-Nathan-Edmondson-Mitch-Gerads-Image-Comics-1st-Printing-NM-MT-/171009247243?nma=true&si=gdvH80efVTiEB1zzXL5uTrieH6c%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 $61
  3. read the whole thread kazoo I have read the thread. What am I supposed to be seeing? I don't see the print run being discussed much at all, nevermind anyone saying that they think it will get over 100k orders. We all knew that the print run for this was going to be big, but 100k+? More than Batman and whatever Marvel is putting out? The best selling book of the entire month? The best selling #1 creator owned book in about 20 years? Where has anyone said those things? I said "we" - I said "you" - plural.
  4. HOLY SPOONING SPOON! from Mark Millar on his forum:
  5. How many times have you been in a dvd shop or a music shop and had someone say "If it's not over there, then I don't have it". I've never noticed any difference between customer service in a comic book shop or any other kind of shop really. And I know a lot of comic book fans and I can't think of even one that's socially awkward. I'm simply taking issue with the way he took a big brush and generalised the majority of comic book folk like that. Just like I'd take issue with any daft generalisation. But he's been on the board for a trillion years so people like you are up his . As for a my psychiatrist remark, that was aimed at his internet diagnosis of personality disorders.
  6. Wow. We have a psychiatrist here diagnosing comic book fans on the internet. Thank you for your statement. It reinforces my post. Must be the fault of my newly diagnosed personality disorder. First you say to a bunch of comic book fans there is a "huge part" of us who are socially awkward, finishing with diagnosing some of us with personality disorders. Then in your last sentence you say these people "sit behind a keyboard and pound away comments meant to ignite a reaction...and to tick people off". Maybe if you want a reinforcement for your post you just need to look in the mirror, doc

  8. I order about 90% of my books from FP. They do use just a cardboard envelope but I've never had anything damaged from them. If I was outside the UK then I might be a bit concerned though. I'd still take my chances.
  9. If that's the entire POINT then it's FAILING. I've only bought one variant but I got it online for cover. If I wanted any others, I'd get them online for cover.
  10. I don't even have a hallway My Revival #5 cover art is all pretty and framed and stuck in my closet. Wife said it's not 'living room' friendly. I disagree. Ask her if your fist is living room friendly. Edit: domestic violence humor is funny "Domestic violence humor" might be hilarious, but what has that got to do with "Ask her if your fist is living room friendly"? Cos all it's doing is making you sound like a .
  11. http://cbldf.myshopify.com/products/the-comic-book-legal-defense-fund you're welcome.
  12. Thought bubble was released before the #1 1st print and the comicspro was the 5th #1 released and released after the #1 TB Variant, #1 1st print, , #1 2nd print, #2 1st print, #2 2nd print and #3 1st print. I saw 4 copies of the TB at my LCS the same day that the regular #1 1st came out so was it really released a bit earlier? Foolishly, I passed on them as the preview in NWM #102 kind of sucked and I liked the regular cover better. The Travelling Man comic shop had TB variants still for sale (for cover price) when people were paying $ for them on ebay.
  13. I take it you're not talking about the TB variant?
  14. I'm not sure if this is what they're talking about but as an example: thought bubble limited to 500 thought bubble print run: 850 But this is done with every limited thing as far as I'm aware. Like with limited vinyl, say it's limited to 1000, there are always extra copies printed for the band and label etc.
  15. Before the PP craze took off, Kurtis told us he was bring home about $400 a month (one book a month) Which is exactly why the gloating about small print runs is so distasteful and selfish. But you know, my bad. Can you stop please? I'm sure E.S. knew what the print run was before posting on the boards. The low print run just means this book will be reprinted until everyone that wants a copy gets one... I don't see a problem with pointing that out. i was referring to the argument the other day, not whatever you're talking about.
  16. Before the PP craze took off, Kurtis told us he was bring home about $400 a month (one book a month) I sincerely hope this number is wrong. Nope.

  18. How did you call me out? And I wasn't "hate dropping". My point was it was disrespectful to gloat about small print runs right in front of a creator. I still stand by that. How it's ok to reply to that with a "f you" is mind-boggling. (or telling me to hand in my "man card" and all the other nonsense that was said) Aparently this is between you and someone else because I never said either of those things or gloated about low print counts (check the thread). Already said it was Solar. But everyone else was too busy "calling me out" for voicing my opinion to call him out for being blatantly and unnecessarily offensive. I don't remember what you said, which is why I asked how you called me out and what hate-dropping I did.
