Ps sociopath does not necessarily mean criminal. You could be living with a sociopath and not know it. Here's a test-ask them: A woman goes to her father's funeral and meets the man of her dreams her soul mate. But he leaves before she can get his number. A week later she murders her sister. Why do you think she did that? Does that fact that I don't know the answer to this question mean I am relatively normal or that I am a sociopath? I"m guessing the options are either to murder the sister to get the guy to show up to another family funeral, or maybe the non-sociopath thing to do would be to check the guest book and see if any single men signed and approach it that way...

Just read the entire thread, this is crazy. I might have missed someone else saying it, but I think maybe CGC should only do walk-through service on moderns. This would cater to any signature series and show-only books, and the books that are less susceptible to resto. Not sure if CGC brings their black light scanners or any other equipement to this, but I'm sure they are rushing to get through these books while on-site.

Small world. I actually picked up 3 copies of MOS #18 from one of the NDC retail stores last night here in the Burgh. Will need to check there other stores as well, because they were barely over cover price....

The funny part is, you could have just added $13.00 to the cost of your book and offered free shipping, and he wouldn't have put 2 + 2 together... I don't understand people complaining about shipping, especially if you "Print Shipping Cost on Label" and they can see it's your actual cost and you aren't profiting from it....

Just to warn you, it does mess up sales recaps on the sales forum. I.e people will say "recap on page 14", and you'll have it on page 6 or 7. But that's really the only negative I see about it. I use the 25 per page I think, as I'm on page 250 for Saga....

Just noticed that Midtown has a Variant for pre-order for $10 bucks. Usually can't go wrong with Rucka so I'll at least grab a copy of the regular cover to read.

Well, here goes nothing. My first ever submission to CGC was one book, a Chew #1 that I bought about a year ago, which I could not find any visible defects on. Figured I might as well go big for my first time out. Since it's for my personal collection, I guess I'd settle for a 9.6 and be happy, but I'm really hoping for a 9.8. Was in "Verified" for a few weeks, and all of a sudden now its "Graded" as of today.. Wish me luck!!!! Grades are not displayed until submission ships. It's just money. Can't take it to your grave with you so might as well spend it on something that makes you happy. People probably spend as much going to SDCC each year and what do you really get from that if you aren't working the show and flipping to get your money back. Oh, and 32....

If anyone listens to Podcasts, Hickman is on the Word Balloon podcast that just came out today. Talks about this book for over 10 minutes, around the 1 hour and 10 minute mark. Nothing too earth shattering but goes into the concept behind the book and general thoughts about sales, ending/abandoning Secret, and focusing on this book and Manhattan Projects...

I guess I'm not too surprised to see this not crack the Top 50 for January Diamond Orders (per the listing at Bleeding Cool, not sure if this was issued anywhere else), as it was in 52nd spot. Assuming its about 40,000 copies, does anyone know if the 1:100 is printed to order? Or would they print, say at least 1,000 copies, and start selling extras to stores at a discount? Personally, I cancelled my monthly pull at 100. It's just not really going anywhere that I'm interesting in going along with, so this will be the last hurrah for me, getting a 1:100, but I'll still pick up the hardcover's once a year.
