  1. Well, there is a copy of the unsigned and unnumbered ECCC on ebay right now for a mere $179. It has been there for quite some time now. I predict some lurkers might buy it after this discussion.
  2. There is just no stopping the ECCC variant. Everytime a new copy comes to market, it gets bought quickly unless it is over priced i.e. over USD150 Here is the latest Sold for USD128 with best offer Some past sales Lucky I still got 2 copies, number 1 and 2
  3. So, have the prices of #1 shoot through the roof yet?
  4. My impression was that most already factored this into the price? Why would it 'shoot through the roof' now On a relative note, Todd's ongoing announcement didn't help to move its price. Not saying it will not increase in the future but the announcement itself didn't move the price by much. Anyway, we shall see how it goes and hopefully I am wrong.
  5. Frankly speaking, I don't think it is madness. Being in the modern thread, we are used to seeing over $100 prices for variants but to other folks, we are the ones who are mad. I mean, paying such an amount for a new title that might or might not be successfully seems crazy. Why not place that bet on established keys? I actually liked the new prices. I think they are more realistic and they don't keep out real fans who can afford these lower prices. My 2 cents
  6. But there are also poor sales like this 10 copies for USD56 with free shipping
  7. I have learned my lessons from overpaying (3 times!) for the first CGC that came to the market. Todd 1 9.8 - pay USD90 and now worth USD40-60 Helhelm ECCC 9.8 - pay USD180 and now worth probably less than USD120 EoW 1 9,8 - pay USD80 and now worth USD40-50 I am sure more will come to the market.
  8. so let's assume it remains stable, how long will we see this being reflected as increasing prices? Never been through this cycle before so pardon the newbie question.
  9. That was one of the things discussed in the April data thread. Why everybody assumes that just because a title is monthly means that it will rise over time? Data shows that only less than 10% of the titles being released actually see increase in print run over time. Most will see decline. Currently, I will say Todd is stable but its fourth issue is still a 10% drop off its first issue. Hard to say if this will increase over time (bearing no tv or movie news)
  10. Here you go Todd #1: 7,879 #2: 6,177 #3: 7,140 #4: 7,113
  11. Anybody can enlightened me on how cgc prices are suddenly so depressed? Is it just because of Con season or somehow the entire market is suddenly realising that modern comics shouldn't be worth so much?
  12. That is Ryan's auction, I think. I bought one at $92. Stupid me. Should have waited and bought this one instead, to add to the 2 other auctions I won from him
  13. The first sale of FP 9.8 - $145 with $15 Only 1 bid though so not sure if future prices will drop or rise.
  14. Correct me if I am wrong but the regular cover is the only one without a full picture. All the all variants have full figures. In fact, the Forbidden planet is the only cover with a 'team' picture, which is why I liked it the most. That being said, I am disappointed that there is no black and white version for the regular cover as I think it will look really cool.
  15. The Forbidden Planet cover is my favorite, no matter what their market prices are. If they fall, all the better because I get to buy more cheap copies!!
  16. Latest update on the print run, given by Hickman himself on Twitter 75K! I would love to see a black and white 4th printing
  17. I was watching that auction. I thought there will be more interest but it seems nobody is interested at that price.
  18. I am always impressed by what CBT has to say. In fact, I try to collect his advice on a single blog post for future reference. http://blog.testbusinessideaonline.com/modern-comic-investment-tips/ Will add this one to it shortly
  19. All these are just silly and I am glad Todd is not a part of that. Keep the quality going Keep the real marketing going (going for signings, going for conferences, interacting with fans on forums etc) These 2 will help to see the comic build up a nice and healthy fan base. Not necessary to have all this collector item wildly_fanciful_statement.
  20. I was referring to the digital copies. Single issue is USD1.99. 5 issues will cost me around USD10 Trade vol 2 is selling at USD14.99. Crazy prices
  21. The pricing they used for the comixology version of volume 2 doesn't make sense to me. Pricing for trade vol 2 is USD14.99 for 5 issues. Each issue's individual pricing is USD1.99 Why would anyone buy the trade when buying the individual issues are much cheaper? I really don't get this pricing.
  22. You can still buy them at cover from Dynamics Force or from Ebay if you think prices will go beyond the $6-8 currently.
  23. Numbers are out. East of West: 49,518 For comparison Walking Dead 108: 67,423 Saga 11: 50,023 The next image title after East of West is actually Fatale 13 with 17,662 copies sold
  24. Dun get too excited. I am the winner of this auction. I bid high because the cost of doing CGC from Singapore is about USD110 including shipping, with no guarantee of 9.8. So USD92 is more economical for me.
