  1. I think variants that don't sell at the con just go out to shops. Like all the Think Tank SDCC variants that were at shops and on their website. Limited to 500, but they were easy finds for a while.
  2. It's an upcoming series, so I think people are just buying up the original sketch covers release from NYCC (?) in hopes it will blow up like everything else has been recently.
  3. Wow Shady, Same seller. Same bidder. Two person battle. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p2047675.l2565&rt=nc&item=290863089448 Edit: Every item! Wow. What a joke. I hope this guy gets kicked off eBay and PayPal.
  4. How shady is this? http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=290862553696&aid=s***r&eu=CMJRospLmIjgzSaOVhLs5%2FEAjnmNGqe6&view=BUYER&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_Buyer_ViewLink I was the only bidder of an item at 99 cents. And I lost it to this bidder for $1.04. The seller relisted the item right away. How do I report this activity?
  5. Why did I have to buy ToT #1 9.8 the other night!?
  6. I bought four the other day. My girlfriend actually likes this one because of Matt Kindt's art.
  7. Simon is going to get one group. And the other two are going to get the other group. The second arc is going to turn into AvX and everyone is going to die. Not really. But I think they scientists will go separate ways with separate groups and a few rogue infected.
  8. What was the deal with the wreckage in Invicible 19? Did anyone ever go up to it?
  9. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIND-MGMT-Print-by-Matt-Kindt-/251225418739?pt=Art_Prints&hash=item3a7e33abf3 These are back up. Last time they sold out same day.
  10. I saw this with ToT. Lot's available, still fetching premiums. It's the "Invisible Hand" at work. The demand is there and many are willing to supply but, a sale will not occur until the buyer makes an offer that the seller is willing to accept. Is that macro or microeconomics?
  11. And not spend hours on a forum about comics.
  12. I wonder how many #4 are going to be up.
  13. Next topic. Let's get E.S. back in here talking about Invincible #19 and whatever else we haven't gotten to yet. Because that blew my mind when I saw a post about it.
  14. Evidence? The fact that comics are being compared to shoes and stamps and there's talk about people walking away to "collect" whatever next pops up on the market as "hot" kind of sums up what I find distasteful here. I know, I know, I'm on a collector's forum but the way the financial rewards of buying comics WAY overshadows any love for the medium at all saddens me. I'm new here. I found this place when after spending too much at xmas I went to find out if any of my comics were worth anything so I could help my bank balance a little. I've stuck around because it was fascinating to me. But I'm starting to think maybe it isn't for me. I love comics. So when I hear people rejoicing at low print runs and refusing to buy a book just because it's a mini and therefore unlikely to ever be worth any money... or sometimes even not buying any book that isn't Image, I kind of despair. This is one of the most active comics forums on the internet and for me, it sucks that it is driven by money. This post makes no sense to me. You buy comics because you like to read them. Okay. You view it as an art, a story, whatever you view it is as. But there is appeal for collecting something else no one else has. Watch the Comic Con episode IV movie when he is trying to sell that comic for %500,000 that is slabbed and unreadable. This is how it is now. Sneakes, stamps, beanie babies, yoyos, Pokemon cards. It cycles.
  15. Well I just bought a pair for $140 from Nike Factory Store and sold it for $375. So I'm sure a few.
  16. I think comics in general are going from sub-culture to mainstream culture. In large part to The Walking Dead. But also Image is it's on little sub-culture in the comic world. You don't see pages and pages on the New 52 thread of Batman #11 or whatever variant is pricey now being sold out right away. Image is limited, so it has appeal.
  17. I agree with this, and frankly, the profiteering going on is making me a little sick of this hobby. When it gets to the point where speculators and flippers are buying entire stocks of hot books just to resell, and average joe comic collector can't even buy an issue at a store —on the day it comes out—it makes me question what the point of it all is. Isn't that how everything is? You look at people who collect sneakers that camp out for hours to day for certain pairs and there will always be people there to sell for profit. Some people even sell there spot in line without even picking up the product. They sell out halfway through the line. LCS offer pull lists that anyone can take advantage of to get a copy. And everyone knows about Midtown and everywhere else offering previews two months in advance. It is your fault for not doing that. The limit of how many copies there are is a huge appeal to certain issues. You look at all the variants and they sell out quick.
  18. Everyone is dead on the cover.
  19. Thank you Eric. I said yesterday a few pages b ack that I hope you would step in and say something. I hope this doesn't make coming to the forums less appealing now.
