Take Fight 40 and Hap 14 via PM!

There was only the one pic, so no way to know. Really no way to know if CF or more center wraps were missing, so I think $10K was a bit of a risk. Unless they got more pics from the seller.

Crazy auction just ended on eBay a short while ago. Lot of old comics, lol. Seller actually identifies that there is part of a Tec 27 (no Batman pages). But no way to know how much missing. Was at $100 when I went to bed last night. Ended at $10611 today. Wow. Could easily be worth double that, depending on what's there. Hope one of you got this, looked like 3 bidders duking it out in final minutes. I was strongly weighing a bid but went past what felt comfortable.

I remember buying this and feeling ashamed with myself at what I paid for such a low grade copy. But it is one of those books that thrills everyone that sees it and one of my all time faves and I'm sure I'd pay far more to buy it again, it looks like a bargain today. So echoing some others, buck up when you see what you want.

Planet 65. One of my favorites and a fun classic cover. About a 4.5 and hope to upgrade this one down the road before prices keep climbing.
Have another rivet i should have this week and I am super happy. I think it is a tough one, and has a strong color strike and page quality,
Just curious being that I am still new to planets. What is the overall consensus on which books are super tough. I know 14 and 15, but I just can never send to find a 2, 8, or 10, 13, 26 anywhere. Sorry if people already discussed this before.
Yeah I've been hunting Planets since 2010 and still need 1 7 and 15 and you showed up with two of the them in your first post here so you seem quite lucky to me. I just tracked down 2 8 and 13 in the last year. But I've randomly run into tough issues, like my 10 at a small shop, you never know what will turn up. And that is one of the best aspects of it, IMO. 65 was my first issue and still a favorite. Good luck on your searching.

Thanks for sharing those interiors! That Guardineer story is amazing, what a treat to see. And now I need to find myself a copy of Cocomalt. This also reminds me I need to share a few interiors from some recent finds...

Beautiful books everyone! Another area I need to focus on, although I think I've missed the boat on prices... Feldstein was a master.

Finally in receipt of my CC winnings, nothing quite like the thrill of getting 3 single digit Planets in one day (4 when you count Spyder's 6 undercopy, which arrived same day)!!
But as I've been looking over my 2, I am wondering about the cover artist. CGC credits Lou Fine, but comics.org credits Eisner. I seem to recall reading something about it possibly being a collaboration... I'm sure there is a thread here somewhere, but wondering if anyone can shed any light on this.

In February 2015, there was this Ebay auction that had all but 10 issues of the 1-26 run. All the listings ended on Feb 17. I wound up grabbing the 7. Amazing I got anything at all because the listings ended minutes from each other and the bidding was furious. It was so memorable I kept this recap
That was a wild auction. I was lucky to win two that day. Looking back at the prices, I wish I would've gone bigger on a few more. Nice work saving a summary.

That Fight is an Eldon book he took care of his books and that Jungle is awesome
Yeah I recognized the name from seeing some early Tecs sell last year, but I'd like to know more about him, if anyone has any further info to offer.

I was very lucky to run across an Okajima Indians 14 in one of Harley's many miscellaneous boxes yesterday. It is a post-camp copy, but my first, and I'm super-psyched to own one. The whole idea of this pedigree and the history absolutely fascinate me as much as any nugget of history in comic-dom. This one has the front and back coding and the certificate, but was de-slabbed.

I have a 7 that is kinda weird. The book is fully laminated, including all interior pages. It weighs like two pounds. But it appears it was fully split down spine and brittle so it is easily readable now. Oh and the coolest part... it is signed by Joe Shuster! Here are pics showing quite a bit of the interior. Note the Flessel splash for the text story. I remember one story also features a yellow peril torture scene where they lock the victim in a body cage and introduce hungry rats. The Spy story features a great Hindenburg splash, and the disaster occurred in May of '37, so this comic was probably drawn shorty after. And of course the Thompson machine gun cover is a favorite.

Thanks! I'm super happy to get another Flessel cover. I definitely need more!
Nice score! I second everyone else, well done. Can't have enough Flessel in your collection, that is for sure! And those New Adventures are very tough.

This arrived today:
something about this book, it's magic or essence, just remindes me of why I love comics! I MUST go read now...
Congrats on yours! Got my 12 a few weeks back from MCS. Presents amazing. But sadly missing a couple wraps. Still, it is a pleasure to behold. Gotta love the rivets!
