  1. I've never seen that issue before. You can find it if you look hard enough but trying to find a copy better than VF...almost impossible. You may never see a Fine copy! I've never seen this either. I know there are probably a few other FCs I've never seen, but it just astounds me when I come across one.
  2. Yes it is. But it is more than that. It is what I dubbed the "Lost Larson"- this is one of six Larsons that were sold to me AFTER my article came out and was re-printed in the local Wasau Gazzette.. I thought I share an interesting postscript about the Larson article I did for the Overstreet Quarterly. After the article came out, Larson’s hometown newspaper in Nebraska asked if they could reprint the Larson article. I naturally gave my permission. In early January I received my copies (they actually “serialized” it into two parts) of the Wausa Gazette. One actually had a cover of Capt. Marvel prominently displayed. About two weeks later I received a letter from an boyhood friend of Larson’s (Larson had even been his best man.). They had read with much interest my articles. It prompted an old memory. Recently, he had cleaned out his mother’s house and discovered a box of his old comics. He remembered as a boy that Larson had given him comics after he was done with them. Sure enough they found six books with “Lamont” or “Larson” on them. He wondered if I “might” be interested in them. MIGHT BE! As described none of the books sounded like they were in particulary good condition. However, driven by curiosity and this incredible quirk of luck that these books even existed I dickered over a price. For the record they are Smash Comics 8, Feature Comics 34, Victory Comics 3, Star Spangled Comics 2, Minute Man Comics 2 and Super Mystery 2/4. None of these books has the classic white pages of the original collection reflecting the unique storage conditions of the originals. No book grades better than a VG+. However, for me and my Larson mania, these lost Larsons will always be special. JSB 2/1/95 c 2015 neat little piece of esoterial..........
  3. This book is so obscure that CGC couldn't find anything to comment on - other than the title, date and bar code - nothing! I've never seen a label so empty.
  4. Great story about the garage, Bob. Amazing that the stuff was all gone when you returned - almost like it was never really there... And nothing makes me happier to see comics I've sold over the years still making people happy!
  5. Wood again in the inks of the second Space Ace. Very nice!
  6. I've never seen it before! How delightful! Thanks, Bang! Shows you the genius of John Stanley.
  7. Sorry for the large images. The 5 cent sign was inside each box along with a dozen 3/4 books.
  8. Wish I had the time right now, but I will elaborate shortly.
  9. Indeed. Mark has an amazing collection. He has been selling off his comics. Wow, I thought I would never see the day when he would do that He sold his Action run last year, mostly through eBay, but some at shows. Mark has the World's Best ashcan. Incredible book.
  10. Bob, do you have a Guy Holcombe by any chance? This is just down right weird, Bill. I've got to start reading ahead before I post. (I found the Guy Holcombes back around 30 years ago. Nice books.)
  11. Indeed. Mark has an amazing collection. He has been selling off his comics. Wow, I thought I would never see the day when he would do that I know - that's freaking me out...
  12. Bob, do you have a Guy Holcombe by any chance?
  13. Indeed. Mark has an amazing collection. He has been selling off his comics. I wasn't aware of that. A few come your way?
  14. A couple guys come to mind. Gary Coddington had a massive collection of Superman stuff. He actually let me read his Action #1 as well as many other key issues. He died in his early 30's of kidney failure. The other guy that comes to mind is Danny Fuchs from New York. He also had a massive collection of every Superman item you could think of new or old. He is still around I believe but kind of slowed down (probably got everything)! Mark Edmonds has everything Superman Indeed. Mark has an amazing collection.
  15. I've never seen this either. Those doll shows have been lucrative for you!
  16. I know it's not GA but since I saw some SA, I thought I'd post this. The strange smoking woman is a striking image and it appears to be two guys kissing in the background. The story is about a small town girl being urged to "get with it" at avant garde parties. I filed this in my "comics with hippies" collection.
  17. This has always been my biggest problem with CGC (and now CBCS). Similarly to some trading card companies - give trimmed books a "Authentic" grade and note the book as trimmed. That 9.4 is REALLY BIG in the corner...
  18. My notes: VF. Sharp but slight shadows on FC. (thumbs u
  19. I just checked my notes and the image of the AT/AP Police Cases 1 and it's not the same comic. There was no # 2 in the WC collection. The Diary Secrets also is not the same.
