  1. I have lost interest in the show and it was becoming one of my favorites. Too much relationship junk and not enough action. Barry is annoying and can't seem to fight his way out a wet paper bag, HR is a dork, Wally is an insufficiently_thoughtful_person doing the whole I just got my powers and want to make a difference cliche and the whole him and Jesse thing is painful to watch with the sappy dialog. The only good character seems to be Cisco. Other than the obvious political agenda Supergirl is a much better show right now action wise, even if it still has all the sappy .
  2. Great movie. I think the only thing that annoyed me was Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and I really like him as an actor. Other than that I guess the only other thing that was silly was when Bruce Wayne is in Metropolis to try and help during the beatdown between Superman/Zod and he gets out of a couple million dollar helicopter and gets into..... a Jeep Renegade. Come on.....he's a billionaire, a Jeep Renegade? really? I'm sure jeep paid a pretty penny for that one but come on.
  3. Agree. You have to get the non-geeks into it. I also agree there is concern but how did ASM2 turn out badly for the Producer? I think if I'm the Producer of ASM2 I'm thinking "we just spent $200 million and the movie made $708 million at the box office, not too bad!" That is a hell of a lot better than $12 million making $64 million imo.
  4. I enjoyed it. Definitely a must watch each week for now. Unfortunately I guess it will have to air for 9-10 years to find out what happens at the end when you see a clip of the future.....
  5. Awesome movie. I was never really a Captain America fan but I walked out of this movie as one that is for sure. He kicked .
  6. I'm probably missing something here or maybe it was discussed but isn't $3500 for a blue label JIM83 a bout 1.5k off FMV?? Unless CGC is basing pricing on Overstreet which is laughable or the Purple Label price maybe? Seems to me that if they buy the book back it should be enough $$ to buy another blue label JIM83 in the same grade. What a royal screw up and on a major key book no doubt which makes it 100x worse.
  7. I'd be very surprised if CGC eats a 5-6k book. I find this post hilarious considering the amount of people who jump all over PGX here The perceived as infallible CGC can make huge mistakes too it seems.
  8. About what they came back at. Bought the Batman 251 from a boardie here who pegged it at 8.5 so that was pretty darn close so I'm happy
  9. Couple of Neal Adams SS and Stan Lee/Joe Sinnott SS FF48. Thanks to DWC
  10. No worries and I'm sure my response was a little over the top so I apologize for that. As I said I have no problem with people making a little coin and the prices here are WAY better for the most part then a convention or Ebay for sure. Plus as I said at least here I will get transactions done from people that now how to grade a comic in most instances as I sure do not. Ebay you never really know for the most part especially in my case where most comics I buy are well over a few hundred sometimes in the 1000's every so often. Glad to be here and hope to build my collection, was just wondering and I appreciate the input from everyone.
  11. I think that's not an accurate assessment across the board (pun intended). There have been discussions about folks that charge excessively high prices for things once encapsulated. Typically that's an amount above the "GPA" which attempts to track the sales of such things on places like Ebay, Mycomicshop.com and others. It doesn't capture everything because of private sales, etc. That said many people use that as a meter stick to establish FMV. A courtesy typically extended to board members here is 'exclusive' prices not available elsewhere (Like on Ebay). These prices are often less than the GPA and folks respect and appreciate that...regardless of what someone paid for a 'raw' comic. Someone purchasing a raw comic in spite of the perceived grade from pictures is taking a measured risk that upon sending it to the CGC it will in fact be an established grade that they expected. There are often surprises and hence it's a risk/reward ratio that they take upon themselves. When there are sellers that don't adhere to the board standards they get flagged here and I've found this particular thread to be especially helpful. I also don't think anyone begrudges anyone else some healthy sales profit where merited. Anyway, that's just my .02 Lots of good people here, some treat you better than family. I've gotten some great deals and have offered some as well (IMO). I appreciate the response and that is cool. Just curious as there are a lot of great people in this community from what I have seen, and great deals to be had. Plus you pretty much know you are getting what you paid for grade wise as most people seem to know what they are doing when grading (I sure do not as a long time comic collector but new to CGC). Glad to be here, just was wondering and certainly wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers.
  12. No offense, but why does it matter who's buying what? Also, if you were buying a new car, would you expect to pay the same price that the dealership paid the manufacturer? If you're "all for capitalism" then I'd suggest just letting it be. We are talking collectibles here...they are only worth what someone is willing to pay I'm new here as well, but I've learned quickly that these types of questions don't get far on the boards, and they generally just unnecessarily aggrivate people. Welcome to the Boards No offense, thanks for your 2 cents but don't tell me what to do. I was curious which is why I asked. If it's acceptable here I have no problem with it I have just been on way too many websites where this was frowned upon so it's interesting is all. And if I decide to flip a comic I saw at a good deal then go me as long as it's a fair price. Yes I would expect to pay what the dealership paid. If anyone knows what they are doing that is exactly what they pay for a new car from a dealership. Dealerships make their money on rebates from the manufacturer for selling so many cars in a month. More cars sold in a month = more $$ per car. They also make money on the back end selling you warranties. Sorry but bad analogy is bad. If you aren't going to answer a question my advice is to keep your fingers off the keyboard, there's my 2 cents for ya. Welcome to the boards as well.
  13. I'm new here (well new by most people's standards) but is it mostly dealers here or collectors buying comics on the For Sale threads? I just notice people buying a lot of raw comics in the for sale section especially keys many times multiple copies of the same comic if available. Then I see those same comics CGC graded and posted a few weeks later at 4-5x the price. I'm all for capitalism and making a buck and not mad I missed out on any comics but I have never seen this type of behavior be accepted on a collector site before. People are usually eviscerated by this behavior but here people seem to be cheered on for snagging deals only to turn around and sell them. If that's the norm cool, just surprising is all. I've got some real nice deals from people and everyone seems really cool but that is just really weird to me. I'm used to people nerd raging on folks that do that stuff.
  14. New addition I got a few weeks back with Stan the Man's sig
  15. Not a 9.6 but just joined the club
  16. Got these a few weeks back. Listed the WD19 at first but think I will keep it now.
  17. Noobie question here. Is the window in the outer bag as well or just the inner bag? It looks like it isn't but then I was confused as to why you would need the flap? I would have thought the facilitator would just slide the inner bag out of the outer bag, get it signed and back in the outer bag for submission to CGC but is that not the case? Sorry, first time submitting and I want to do this right. Thanks.
  18. I could care less what variant is what but it is funny when people tell others how they should collect. If someone wants to say one variant is a little more rare based on what has been said who cares? Let them....
  19. That is the thing I didn't rush them, just asked what the process was for changing my address as I have have 2 invoices submitted. next thing I know, one if then is suddenly "scheduled for grading" after being received for 3 weeks. I'm not saying they undergraded it, it is what it is, but can't help thinking maybe it was rushed but would like to know why it received that grade. Can you get grader notes on submissions or is that something you have to pay for up front? I have no problem with getting a lower grade than expected, just tell me why.
  20. A thousand more of one variant over the other most certainly could be considered a big deal to some. Not sure if it has effected the prices though.
  21. My first submission since joining. Honestly I don't have too much experience with grading but the WD#1 was near flawless except for a very tiny nick in the top left corner. I was pretty disappointed in the grade because if there were any other issues I sure did not see it. Sadly, they had to rush my order because they were going to be late after I emailed about the change in address process. Can't help but wonder if that had anything to do with it but oh well.
