  1. But then do you slap it after? I mean slab
  2. Please. I had $150 ready to throw at this book right out of the gate. Silly business meetings. So what if they contribute to the income. What's that got to do with comic books?
  3. Actually $82.17, there is a BIN for $98. Boscoe was correct: C $90.00 Approximately US $67.64 It is beyond me why people run auctions in the month of August. With Back to School and other things going on (conventions), unless you are really strapped for cash, do not run auctions. Just a terrible idea. But hey, I've picked up quite a few things this month so.... You're not counting shipping. If the same book closed for $10 with $60 shipping would you say it sold for $10? The two books I compared had different shipping prices, thus I added the shipping to get a comparable total. You said the book had a BIN of $98. But it's okay. You got confused. No harm done. Also, the seller couldve done better for himself if he listed it as cgc 9.8

But hey, I've picked up quite a few things this month so.... Not so much the timing as much as demand. This book is a grey area book.. Has a cult following (me included) but is not a trending book, so - bad idea to dollar auction it regardless of time cause youre at the mercy of whos online that 1 week. Ive been looking for one for awhile, and I practically live on eBay and I missed that one. Thats proof enough
  6. The Mint Maker can handle it. OhEmGeeeeejus! Stealing!!
  7. Seal /Bienfang 200 is the official comic book pressing machine
  8. rattle can of spray paint does the trick. Just do a few light coats & don't try to get full coverage on the 1st pass. Paint like you don't want it to run (follow the instructions on the back of the can for distance/speed of passes/flash-off time/etc) and you're golden. It's what I did with the slightly rusted one I picked up. Just take it apart before you start. The rack part comes off the post & the actual spinner mechanism comes apart in probably 3 pieces (the middle part of the sandwich that looks like a ring of ball bearings, just toss them in a little bucket with some WD-40 in it & any corrosion on the bearings should go away too) & paint everything separately. Not really planning on selling them, but does anyone know whats the market (for lack of better terms) value is for the rack stands (not swivel ones)? It was a cool little pick up, I also picked up 2 large 1991 inflatable Spider-Man & Wolverine figures
  9. picked this lot today.. The 1st is a DC special rack, I didnt see anything too special about it but seller said they were given away to stores by DC.. Then there are 4 regular displays and 2 swivel ones
  10. Gucci mane is getting out of jail soon! Watch what you say! I heard he had a great time in there.. Ugh! Inmates have bad taste
  11. The Darkhawk appreciation thread. I think I'm wearing somebody else's pants today. These ones got money in them. Just have it as a sig pic case closed
  12. Wasnt there like a heated debate about this book last year at some point, and how this is a HTF modern archie grail http://www.ebay.com/itm/Life-With-Archie-Double-Sized-Commemorative-Issue-CGC-graded-9-8-Death-36-37-/191665923951?hash=item2ca02de76f
  13. What does that have to do with anything.. Im not trying to make it personal. This is not according to me.. I would probably have ignored this all back and forth if it wasnt for the way you worded it.. Sub-Mariner #34-35 is more for completists, but not even barely important as the three-part introductory story I mentioned According to who? You?
  14. FTFY Ahhhh cool... Even better;) Sub-Mariner #34-35 have very little relevance as far as the team idea goes. The true storyline which sets the basis for the series is Dr. Strange #183, Hulk #126 and Sub-Mariner #22, a three-part story where they met for the first time (Dr. Strange is not even there in Sub-Mariner #34-35). BTW, Defenders #1 is not common in grade compared to the more costly Marvel Feature #1. While its true that they are not known as "The Defenders" in SM34-35 (they're actually called the titans three), those are usually referred to as the prelude to Defenders books, And Im sure that Roy Thomas would agree (thumbs u Just thought I'd mention it here since this book doesnt get much discussion here and it should Yes, you righteously say that these have been "usually referred to as the prelude to Defenders books" for years, but while #34-35 have always been acknowledged as being a "prelude" because you have the Silver Surfer meeting them, if you read – or re-read – the three I mentioned you will see why they are of exceptional importance to how the idea came about, and also the first time Strange meets both with the Hulk and Sub-Mariner. The Undying Ones storyline also introduces foes which would have been a center staple to the early Defenders events, as in Hulk #126 you have the first appearance of Barbara Norriss, still dealing with the cultists with his husband. She later would have lost her mind if she did not became an incarnation for the Valkyrie. It is not a chance that when Englehart starts with Defenders #1 it’s the Undying Ones that he chooses as the foes. The story of Sub-Mariner #34-35 is more for completists, but not even barely important as the three-part introductory story I mentioned. Everyone can realize that by reading or re-reading it. I appreciate your Defenders history tracking, but according to the market and Marvel, SubMariner 34-35 is a "little" more than just a completist novelty.. Certainly more important than those 3 books youve mentioned according to the industry standard, but dont take it from me..

  16. you know youre our hero Au Im not too sure about how "popular" Zim is, I've never heard of him until Ive seen the crazy prices the variants fetch on feebay.. And theyre selling every day! http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=Invader+Zim&_sac=1&_sop=13&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=63&_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=Invader+Zim&_sacat=63 When I read a bit about it on wiki It seemed as if the anumated series failed. But it does have a cult following according to wiki, I think thats where the numbers are coming from. Its the "1000 fans" effect if anything.. I really think that this book will sustain its desirability among collectors especailly with such a promising start Rule of 20 remember? That was a show that kids watched back then. Makes sense that some who are now old enough to buy it do. Perhaps, here are some more credible facts.. Jhonen Vasquez creator of Zim has a huge following, 80k+ followers on fb (I'd say that that figure correlates more or less with the sales figure of 70k+ that diamond reported). The reason why those followers are buying the comic is because the TV show ended and the fans, seeking continuation, can only resort to the comic as there isnt any show currently on tv. According to wiki: In February 2015, Oni Press announced that a comic book series based on the show, in collaboration with Jhonen Vasquez and Nickelodeon, was being released as a continuation of the series. Vasquez said about the show: "I'm always confused when people say how much they miss Invader Zim because the show never stopped running in my head, and then I remember everyone else isn't in my head". Good on Oni Press for figuring this out, they may have actually resurrected Steve Rogers from ice with this one based on the demand this character seems to fetch
  17. Be glad you never got such a comment...it's usually followed by "and that's why I've decided I'd like to wear your skin as a suit." "I can't bear the thought of you shipping such perfect comics to anyone else so perfectly with such perfect packaging." I once got an email from a buyer who said I did such a great job, he's gonna name his newlyborn twin babies Awe & Lorder
  18. .. Actually I won them on eBay.. 2 came from sparkle city (i know, I couldnt believe i bought from them, their grading is over the top, as they were listed as 9.4, but they are most likely a 9.0, luckily I have a seal 200m to help bring them back to 9.4) and the other one from another seller on eBay (#1 + 2, FVFish) .. Total spent 45.00 shipped.. I always wanted one, now I have 3
