  1. Oh, that argument. In all fairness though, so far as speculation is concerned, he played his cards better. If I only had one copy I wouldve probably sold it now. True. If I had 10 (!) I wouldnt Ok. What would you do? I am genuinely curious. Keep my eyes on the trends; see how many are sold, how many are offered, how quick they close, and whats the margin of appreciation/decline is. Sure. That still doesnt mean jack. But its a more educated guess for lack of better terrms

  3. He assumes that it will (since he has copies left) You assume it wont (you sold all of yours) Coincidence?
  4. Not to be outdone.. There goes another one... This time for only 10$ more: http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-100-CGC-9-8-NM-MT-2nd-Print-Variant-Cover-1st-app-Negan-AMC-TV-/252165476291?hash=item3ab63bcfc3:g:D4UAAOSwT5tWQq61
  5. This guy may be on to something. I bid on a 9.8 and stopped at $200 - it just ended on E-Bay at $318! That's almost double last GPA. Glad I listened to his advice and grabbed a NM+ possible 9.8 copy earlier this week for $40. That was my listing. I was shocked at the final bid, expecting it to end around $200 as well. I wanted to test the market with one copy, I have a few more in hand that I'll be waiting on This book is hot! Apropos the thread Waiting for? His actual appearance on the show. When the general populace join the speculators in overpaying for a book that was common a month ago! Does that usually work? I assume you think it will sell for me more. Why wouldnt he?
  6. ha.. it didnt mask "badass" im gonna say badass a few more times now badass badass badass

  8. Something tells me we wont get out of this conversation. I repeat. The book is not currently trending/heating up. Its selling for 300+ in sleep mode. Thats why its currently at 300 AND not offered as often as your randomly selected 9.8 book. The reason why your (add random 9.8 trending book here) is popular is BECAUSE its heating up. Not to suggest that it is heating up for a second. Its been heating up for awhile. Elfquest doesnt. When its reader base make it popular again and it becomes a commonly discussed topic in the blogesphere, you would see it selling for a much higher price and in a more frequent basis. I repeat. Fantasy Quarterly #1 IS NOT heating up
  9. Those are all great buys! I use to buy Nexus 1-3 (mag) and Xenozoic Tales but stopped after I got my fill a few years ago. I suspect many of these titles will have their day yet! Thanks
  10. The 1st example you pointed out was a deal I worked out with the seller, what can I say, Im good like that the 2nd one you mention (which I watched as well) has "3 pages torn at time of printing" which explains why it sold for so low. This book sells for upper 300 in 9.8 as you know Missed the page tear reference, not that I was bidding on it. I guess upper 300s sounds good for a 9.8, but it depends on how many are out there. If there are only as few that maybe doesn't sound that great considering what other stuff can sell for. Anyway, 9.8 sales are only a sliver of the market. I'm looking at sales of a nice raw copy, which are probably more nostalgia or rule of 25-35 related (or here, what, 38?). perhaps it was a local thing among the dorks i knew, but i remember elfquest being pretty popular at some point in the 80s (i never read it, but i was not big into D&D, which is what some of the elfquest fanatics were into) Again, did they once try to do something with this in terms of a movie or cartoon but it was a bust? i see there was some buzz about a movie a few years ago but i guess that didn't happen. if they wait much longer it will be the original readers bringing their grandkids to the movie, not their kids! 1. Elfquest is a HUGE property with over 15 million comics novels and other publications in print. 2. It was picked up by Warner in 2008 but eventually dropped because Warner didn't want the film competing with The Hobbit It did have a tremendous influence on the market and still is a staple in comic history for a number of reasons; it was one of the early successes that marked the establishment of a phase in underground comics in which a new genre of alternative independent comic books emerged that were closer in content to the big two. First book to hit the masses which was created written and drawn by a female creator. Widely regarded as the first Japanese manga-influenced graphic novel series with a high fantasy theme published in America. One of the first (if not the first) books to be published in Hardcover format (based on reader demand and library distribution) I totally get that youre not into the genre. Me neither. But I see this book's value and understand why its up there. Not because its "not cool" to have a book whos not optioned for film. Not because its "not cool" to have a book whos not being hyped on the interweb. Not because its not today's soup of the day. This book is timeless. It has a cult following. And it has made history. Its just not "heating up" right now

  13. WD #100 2nd prints are climbing up slowly.. Previously on AMCs WD Last 2 sales were for 47 & 56.. Lowest one on the bay currently BINing at 39.99 raw & 300+ for a 9.8
  14. What's this rule? You have to be at least 35 to understand . . .
  15. Yup. These will come back big time in due time.. Probably after movie hyping will end and collectors seek the next big thrill.. I search alot at conventions/flea markets and 80s indie keys are hard to come by on both fronts..but they are very affordable on the Bay still which is why I keep scooping them every time I see them there for a few bucks.. Here are some of my recent purchases: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321916138361?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/272012616487?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/151794484209?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/272010225534?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/171965453310?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/161853688870?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/321915856862?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

  17. I found it interesting too. 2nd and 3rd prints are going to monsters glad I kept several. Its the clearest shot of Negan weve ever got on a cover.. Kinda like CM17 2nd print
  18. Interesting that the HR chose #100 2nd print as their cover of choice. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/walking-dead-negan-jeffrey-dean-836243
  19. First off, he doesn't know I'm a reseller. Secondly, he most certainly does NOT know what he has. The ASM #300 was $300 and not even an 8.5... 1) dealers smell like dealers. It's unmistakeable. 2) he might not have known what the book was worth, but he knows it's a key, and isn't going to give it away.
