  1. Shouldnt it be Lady Thor instead of male Thor on that Squirrel Girl cover?
  2. EoSV was never in dollar bins. Not yet at least. Maybe now it would be? Because 100 copies sold for $5.50 each? Maybe youre right there are so many modern 3rd prints being sold bulk by the hundred for almost double cover days after theyre being printed
  3. EoSV was never in dollar bins. Not yet at least. Maybe now it would be?
  4. Well, so far Spider gwen is off for a very promising start, print runs are about the same 50 to 60k on both BA12 and EOSV2.. So who really knows
  5. All I can say is - congratulations to US. These all female characters comics reaching above the norm closing prices just means that the industry we love will only flourish. I welcome this with open arms
  6. How does a new seller gets approved for 24,000 on ebay.. Also, on his sold items, it looks like he's buying his own books
  7. Maybe female readers prefer to shop online? I mean seriously, I would be a little bit intimidated myself if I walked into a comic book store and saw this guy:
  8. I see Ruben Blades name mentioned often here..
  9. While I think you are right I think its awhile longer before it really becomes apparent in circulation numbers. Maybe another year or so. When I see more women next to me hunting back issues on titles I will really know its changed. I see this occasionally now, but just enough to notice. You think its not here yet? Just look at how many "sold" listings there are on the new thor on ebay, as opposed to say deadpool... I know that this is not an accurate figre 100% but you would see that Thor 2014 has 650+ sold books which is pretty darn close to deadpool 2014 730+ sold listings... I dont think Thor was that exciting for a long time now (sorry Thor fans) Also, I think that bad girl female character will be more popular among female readers than inhibited characters.. Harley is a perfect example.. Bad girl, bad character resonate with female teenagers more than your typical female superhero. I wouldnt be surprised if a large demographic of Zombie Tramp is also attributed to female readers
  10. I also forgot to add female Thor to the list above, although eBay prices still seem relatively low, the several LCS I frequently visit report a larger than average appetite for this title. I think we are about to embark on a new speculating era with this long overdue new and exciting demographic of readers
  11. Third Print? That depends on the print run mainly, it seems to be buzzing on the Bay at the moment. If you get them at cover, I'd say snatch a few..
  12. I really believe in the sustainability of this book. Points to consider: a 1st appearance of a character which is not in his/her own series and relatively little to no hype, in my book those are always classic keys as opposed to manufactured variants. 50k for a popular character is really nothing, sustainability is the big question here, and from what we see so far, it does look like spider gwen will be here for awhile. Female demographic is bigger than ever in the comic world now. Harley, Squirrel Girl, Ms marvel, X23, spider woman/girl and now spider gwen. I think thats why Manara's Spiderwoman interpretation was considered "controversial" - it wouldnt have happened a few years ago when female comic book readers werent as big as today. My advice is to hold on to whatever stock you have on this character, even 2nd prints are keepers.

  14. I disagree, Art Adams female portrayals are at a league of their own. They are Frazzetta voluptuous mixed with Anime. Brilliant stuff, keep em coming
  15. Awesome stuff! And I wasnt aware of the Original Sin covers, they are amazing!
  16. This is an excerpt off his interview @ Comics Interview #46 CBA: What was High Anxiety [misnaming High Energy]? Arthur: [laughs frenzied and nervously] That never happened! There is no High Anxiety! [laughs] It's an old Mel Brooks movie! [laughter] Honestly, I met some guy-can't even remember his name now, it's been so long-at a convention, and he was putting together a comic book magazine, and he saw some of my stuff and asked me to put something together, and I put together something I hope will never, ever see print! Ever! [laughter] It was pretty bad. CBA: What was it? Arthur: I can't remember it that well, it was just not good. [laughs] CBA: Was it super-heroes, science-fiction...? Arthur: [sobbing] It was horror, as I recall... please stop. I'll give you money. CBA: [laughs, after accepting a large sum of cash] Thanks. We'll move on, now! Was that your first published work? Arthur: That might've been the first, but the first piece I was ever definitely paid for, was a pin-up in the back of Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew

  18. New Mutants Special #1 and X-Men Annuals #9 & #10 are sumptuous banquets for the eyes. Every page is a masterpiece, a delight to behold, and each time, there's something new to see. I pick up NM Special #1 whenever I can. Not only is it a tough, tough book in 9.8, but it's criminally cheap. Longshot was his first mainstream work, so it's a little sketchy, but by 1985-86, he was producing masterpieces. By 1990, it was pretty much over. I think his last really great work was X-Men Annual #12. I wish he still did, but I'm not sure he can anymore. Every word my friend, every word
