  1. But hey, TWD is modern right? hehe WTTB ! Move away from the computer while you still can.
  2. I think that media hype is what makes this a winner. This issue covers pro gay and anti gun control issues. Im not big on politics hitting the comic arena, but clearly this book was carefully thought through. From concept to marketing to execution (no pun intended).. Fionas BINs are thinning out on eBay
  3. Looks like this one is the diamond in the rough from the whole LWA#36 set. Why? you guessed it.. Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-allocations Fiona does it again
  4. Which are most appealing to you? Likely there are others that would agree and want those ones as well. As for the demographic that collects Archie vs. Superman. I would agree, probably more women, well maybe, but also definitely less men which make up the majority of collectors/buyers. The Fiona Staples is an obvious choice to me. But I say get them all. Tomorrow is going to be crazy!!!!
  5. Im pretty sure that LWA 36 & 37 will be as big if not bigger than death of superman (well not that its big now, but if anyone remember how hot that book was in the 90s). Im basing this on the considerably low amount printed (just shy of 30k?) and the MASSIVE hysteria that the media is creating around this book. Just today I saw coverage of it on 2 major networks and at least a few dozen discussions on my facebook feed (none of my friends/peers are into comics btw) and to me that translates as a huge interest. Plus I think that Archie is more popular with the ladies than supes hehe.. I wish that I knew which variants to scoop but at this rate I may pick any I could get.. And you??
  6. The seller definitely pitched it differently than other listings so it seemed more lucrative to the bidders. In their mind its GUARANTEED to come back 9.8. so at 9.8+subbing fees its a pretty accurate figure... Now about those sharp corners...
  7. Ill be more interested in seeing how many 2nd prints of #1 they'll print
  8. Every Firestorm thread deserves a mention of this fabulous listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/1985-Kenner-Super-Powers-Firestorm-AFA-20-Action-Figure-/400095762337?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d2790d7a1#ht_1254wt_911
  9. That price is ENORMOUS! This looks like the shill of the century
  10. If this show gets past the 2nd season the biggest question then will be who brings more ratings Constantine or Outcast
  11. Thats quite the time machine you got there.. Can you have it take me to when AoS #5 was 2.00?
  12. Does that mean "books will be shipped without boards", or does it mean "I don't want some picky *spoon* from the CGC Boards buying these"?
  13. its a good thing that I waited... finally got a reasonably priced variant I know this may sound strange but.. Are these 2nd prints???
  14. Would an advertisement of a character make it a valuable key more so than first appearance? Will a 1st full appearance of a character make it more valuable than a one panel 1st appearance? Looks like the whole blogsphere is all over Mondo #3 now.. Do I care? no (but thats cause I dont have a copy.. Do you???
  15. Sure. Slab one of those bad boys... OK, im guessing Titos Vodka
  16. My thoughts exactly.. I think every book that was printed so far which featured this title, preview/variant/reg, had a small print run.. If this title blows up as expected this would make up for one tough book to compile
  17. Mondo #3 to Enormous #1 is what Tim Krul was to Jasper Cillessen this past weekend
  18. AV#1 is a great book to own! a 9.8 recently sold for 200+ If thats even any indication to what M#3 will bring if Enormous reaches Preacher levels than.. It will probably sell more than Enormous #1 because that book is not gradable!
  19. Well, just going off of one of those I know about, and was able to Google to confirm... ALPHA FLIGHT #17 vs BIG HERO 6 #1 "Scheduling issues resulted in the mini-series appearing before Alpha Flight #17, though the Alpha Flight issue was chronologically their first appearance in the Marvel Universe." This is a case of a shared universe - I sort of get it, I guess, but it doesn't make a lot of sense from a practical stand point. And the TMNT one... isn't the 'appearance' in Goobledygook just an ad? Anyway, I guess if it was all straightforward there wouldn't be much to talk about  Yup, the collectibles universe is almost as complex as the Marvel Universe I guess the best way to do it is to let the industry pick the winner, Im pretty sure that they'll pick both.. Now I gotta figure out if I can get a few of those M3s too!! (I have 2 Treasuries already hehe)
  20. yea with a bit of googling i confirmed it as well... Generally the previews are considered first appearances. Not in this case though... Then theres also the dreaded print run.. Mondo 3 seems to have a lower print run since its also the last issue of that series.. plus the grading bonus and id say its a possible winner.. Can it be up for debate? Is there some other precedent where something is a first appearance even though... it... appeared.. first... elsewhere? Talk about a can of worms! At the end of the day.. If the title is enormous (no pun intended) and there are significantly fewer copies of a preview than a #1.. the former tops the latter as far as desirability.. Usually

ALPHA FLIGHT #17 vs BIG HERO 6 #1 TMNT #1 vs GOBBLEDYGOOK #1 DMZ 1 vs Y THE LAST MAN 37 sooo many others...
