  1. Well again, NM87 is a hot book.. there's a difference between a person who doesn't know anything about books values and quoting you a price for a worthless book as 200$ (I saw captain carrot 1 listed on eBay for 200), and a person who wants to sell you a long box of drek with NM87 as the carrot on the stick. I see plenty of the latter time and time on fb and cl. I always tell them what they already know (playing along as if I don't know their tricks) "honestly sir/ma'am, your best bet is to list that one book on eBay and get 200$ for it, then donate the rest cause no one will ever bother with them"
  2. I mentioned this in the Bronze section so figured I'd mention it here too
  3. NM 87 is definitely a 100-200 book. And that's raw. Unless you're talking about the reprint? maybe im missing your point here
  4. I wasn't necessarily advicating Kirby's Sandman as an optioned property. But merely using the Eternals example as a book that needed a price correction. It did. I am in the belief that Sandman 1 is extremely undervalued, both as a first appearance and as a Kirby bronze classic. Up until now I thought that since it was massively overprinted a price correction wouldn't makes sense. But as with the Eternals example, it clearly could. And it should
  5. It's amazing to me that a book like Eternals has turned almost overnight from a dollar bin book to a 100 book (raw). I was talking to someone this weekend about it and he was saying that a price correction was well overdue on this book and the TV show talks were the spark that set it aflame. If we were to go by that example then I would also consider speculating on a book like (Kirby's) Sandman #1. It's still a very affordable book and definitely in dire need of a price correction
  6. I know they will probably never read this, but my hopes are that CGC staff members will and take notice - your witness team of Ashari & Patricia are making you win! Yesterday at East Coast comic con and 2 weeks ago at Big Apple Comic Con the line up was insanely packed with top notch talent. I already knew its going to be crazy to try hitting them all up, but Patricia & Ashari both made it happen. Although their duties do not require them to do anything other than witness the sigs and walk you back to the booth, these two walked with me from one talent to the next, patiently waiting while delegating tasks with the hundreds of other book submitters who frequented the event. Even helping in organizing books, and responding quickly to texts/calls when needed. All that without ever losing their cool and charm. Ive worked with CGC witnesses in the past and they were all very professional, but Ashari & Patricia went the extra mile without me even asking Heres to many more events working with your dynamic duo
  7. Yup, I most likely will use something a bit more secure or even a short box instead of this tall box, because when you run around between one sig to the next you just dont have the patience to "lock it" constantly with the wrapping latches, and TWICE the box fell and all my books spilled out! Luckily I had them well protected so nothing got damaged, but boy was I pissed!
  8. Met with Starlin yesterday. He was very kind and humble, he was sitting with (I believe his granddaughter?) who handled the sig fees, we chatted up a bit (I kept it quick cuz the line was insane!) but at the end he even asked me if I'd like to take a pic with him. Left a very good impression! I know he had some tension with CGC in the past but it's all resolved now, so maybe that's the same with Marvel? Who knows.
  9. It's actually not a magazine, it's comic book sized but printed on regular paper, even the cover (as opposed to gloss), and some of the interior has different paper stock which gives it a fanzine feel. also interesting about this book is that there are no staples to it! I'm not sure if that's how it is with all copies but that's how it is with the 3 copies I have. Not sure how they bound this book There are DEFINITELY more copies of this book around than Elfquest #1 1st print (1$ cover price) even tho Fantasy Quarterly is the the original source used in Elfquest 1. I am always in search of issue 1 when I'm digging or on the bay and in the past few years I've found less than a handful, and not ONE in 8.0 or higher. On a side note I met Wendy & Rich yesterday and was great catching up. Wendy did tell me that they have been approached MANY times by top tier movie personnel requesting to adapt Elfquest but they do not want to turn it to a Hollywood sweetheart ala LOTR/Harry Potter.
  10. So my concern with the cases was that they won't be right enough or too tight for the books.. I went to TJ Max and got me a mini troly for 20$ then at the con I all of a sudden noticed that EVERYONE had the same thing
  11. Wishing you a speedy recovery man, I had a RC injury years ago but wasn't a tear and it was no walk in the park ?? As far as entertainment.. just whip out Steve Moncuse Fish Police and Normalman, that will get you plenty laughs

  14. Was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for affordable cases to carry books when going to cons? I have a good 75-100 books I need to carry with me to get signed and some are magazine sized. Was thinking maybe something with a handle/wheels? What do you guys use? Thanks in advance!

  17. Imagine if there was a Fantastic Thor book? I always thought it would be cool to have a 1st issue where the #1 is crossed off and the word "Won" is marked over instead.. Like.. Harley Quinn Won
  18. David Michelinie pronounced Mee-Keh-Line-Ee
