  1. Wow that is totally not what I took from conversing with him. In fact while we were chatting it up, Jim (Salicrup) stopped by with a sandwich he got him and peter kept on talking to me about his take on the whole Mcafarlane fiasco for at least another 15 min He came across as a super chatty and charming fella. At times I was a bit confused bcs he kept on bringing up topics I wasn't aware of (the famous $3 mil baseball Todd purchased back in the day) and other things. All in all I ended up learning a lot and plan on seeing him again at 4th World (in Long Island) maybe he changed
  2. No they havent, but you can read Peter David's take on it here: https://www.peterdavid.net/2010/09/02/after-the-great-debate/
  3. While attending this past Big Apple Comiccon I had a lengthy chat with Peter David (super nice guy). Among other things, we chatted about his past relationship with Todd, which he covered in a very respectful manner I was quite shocked to find this today while reading more about their past relationship online. Enjoy A little history about this debate (courtesy of CBR) In the early ‘90s, Todd Mcfarlane and Peter David were both hot properties in the comics world. Mcfarlane had helped launch Image comics and his creation, Spawn, was a regular presence at the top of the charts. Meanwhile, Peter David was receiving critical acclaim for his work on “Incredible Hulk” and “Spider-Man 2009” and had a regular column in the “Comic Buyers Guide.” It was this column (“But I digress”) that was to lead to one of the strangest events of 1993: The Great Debate. Despite Mcfarlane and David having a successful run together on “The Incredible Hulk,” relations had cooled in the years since. Mcfarlane took issue with some of David’s columns, believing that this was a further example of the way that the media did not treat him and Image fairly. He issued a public challenge for David to debate him, resulting in a widely-publicized event at the Comicfest convention in 1993, on the topic of whether Image and Mcfarlane had been treated fairly by the media. David was voted the debate winner by judges but later wrote that he regretted his participation, as it served no purpose other than to give Mcfarlane everything that he wanted.
  4. In a nutshell, MA was distributed free of charge in its early years so if im not mistaken that is also the reason why it was excluded from OSPG back then. And as the article above demonstrates, there have been dealers that have been speculating on these since the dawn of time (or close)
  5. A few notes about the inception of MA from one Chuck Rozanski here (scroll all the way to bottom of entry):
  6. Some more MIB heat! https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Men-In-Black-1-CGC-9-8-White-Pages-1990/302559788151?hash=item4671f7fc77:g:QX0AAOSwB3BaLIdK https://www.ebay.com/itm/MEN-IN-BLACK-TRADE-PAPERBACK-1-Near-Mint/232699589024?hash=item362df9f1a0:g:EzUAAOSwstNaq3h5 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-MEN-IN-BLACK-1-1st-print-Aircel-Malibu-Comics-Pre-Will-Smith-Movie/382322214264?hash=item59042e0578:g:FWwAAOSwiHpaRAjO
  7. I don't care for either really. Huge AAdams fan but his style changed tremendously throughout the years and not for the better in my opinion. If I had to own one I'll def go for the Kirby version because it's original and, well, cause it's Kirby
  8. Havent done one of these for awhile: Go! Nothing too fancy, but cant beat that price. Esp with 0.99 shipping Njoy
  9. It appears in all it's mighty glory on the title page a*s soon a*s u open the book
  10. No newsstand and no variant. Just one HTF old skool image book
  11. This thread proves that despite what everyone thinks, still, every day is Friday on the CGC boards
  12. You will be billed for each count of Bloodshot issue as an individual listing whether its listed by itself or collectively in that multiple listing method. So, if you have ONE multiple issue listing of bloodshot which consist of 20 issues, you will be billed for 20 listings. To demonstrate: Seller bestcoastdeals has 4 listings on ebay https://www.ebay.com/sch/bestcoastdeals/m.html?item=182896812864&rmvSB=true&hash=item2a957fe340%3Am%3AmAzF565-MoIHvZ_1CJ0jFdA&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 yet his total count shows 32. That is because eBay counts all listings within those listings The only advantage really is what you pointed out- if you want a buyer to find a collective of books in one listing, than its cool. But, from my experience, most buyers do not clearly know how to use this, and as you can even see in this very thread, there is a lot of confusion about this. So unless youre a savvy eBayer this may result in more headaches than solutions.
  13. They're not? I think seanfingh meant that they are cheap walking dead reprints married to the custom made museum cover. Is that not correct?
  14. Here are a few more Amalgam Age of Comics DC comics collection I always hunt for these on the low. Now you know my secret, so please keep it quiet and dont post on the internet shhhhhhh Madonna Sex Goddess 1 Friendly Comics Picture of Actual Item Just a book you cant find in the wild. Ever. This is gonna get pressed tonight, definitely a 9.4 or higher And, by far, my biggest score this month: National Lampoon 1964 High School Yearbook 39th edition Sure, I'd love to own the original again (had one last year and flipped it real quick, the money was good), but for this price?? No, no no... Im not complaining I wasnt sure what condition this will end up being, I could clearly see the tape residue on the top right of the cover, but knew this wouldnt be an issue to remove. I just prayed that at that price it would actually have a back cover. So after a quick tape removal treatment its now NM again!
  15. OOps looks like I missed you wrote it already. Ignore
  16. Marvel Age 90 preview of torment with an original Mcfarlane cover is another big one
