  1. Just picked up this National Comics #23, Quality Comics, June, 1942. Grand Comics Database has this as a Lou Fine World War 2 cover, CGC has it as Will Eisner, Ernie Gerber has it as Lou Fine and Gill Fox. Only 5 universal copies on the census. One of the harder Nationals to find (for me). Jack Cole, Paul Gustavson, Will Eisner, Fred Guardineer art. The Unknown and Destroyer 171 begin.
  2. Good question. I try not to associate with the average joe on the street. If you asked three randos you might get three different answers.
  3. First superhero/Superman (Action #1). Man in the street has no idea Batman first appeared in the 27th issue of an anthology series (Detective).
  4. I'm good with that. Action 1, Marvel 1, then Tec 27
  5. Shenanigans in the deal are fine. Just no shenanigans in the grading of the book. I should have clarified.
  6. Looking to trade Byrne XMen for a Marvel 1 9.4 (w/no shenanigans). PM me.
  7. Action 1, Tec 27, and Marvel 1 will always be the big 3 to me. I must be old timey!
  8. I can't imagine All Star #8 being in the same ballpark as Marvel Comics #1. Call it personal preference, but that boggles the mind. For anywhere near the same money, I'm going MC1 all day every day. Nothing against Wonder Woman (and I've had more than one copy of Sensation #1, WW #1, and AS #8), but I never had any interest in keepng a copy of All Star #8. Marvel Comics #1 is one of my few true grails in this hobby.
  9. I'm not actively collecting anymore, but my 2019 goal, as was my 2018 goal and will be my 2020 goal: Stumble across books I love going way too cheap (if they're rare, even better!).
  10. I only kept the 52, 54 and 55. Wish I had kept a few others!
  11. Recent acquisition German WWII cover. 17 universal on the census.
  12. Recent acquisition. 4 Most Comics #1. On sale date November 15th, 1941. Produced by Funnies, Inc. for Novelty Publications. The Target, Cole, The Cadet origins retold. German #WWII cover.
