  1. Sharing from Comics General for those of us that don't venture over there. Please be on the lookout.
  2. WF 9 was the first golden age book I ever bought (along with Human Torch 12). I was snagged by WWII covers at a tender age!
  3. That's cool. I traded for my All American 16 from him, that is probably the only book I still have that came from him.
  4. Did a lot of business with him in the late 70s, early 80s. Good dude. Bought my first Centaur from him. Amazing Man 15 for like $20.
  5. Wow! Big move! Good luck with all the sales! Even as a rider exclusively on the cheapest of trains, I manage to snag a rare morsel three or four times a year (if I'm lucky). Picking comics up so infrequently has me in a no-sell posture, because there would be no replacing anything that I sold.
  6. I haven't been actively collecting for years. I pick up a book here and there if it's (relatively) cheap. That's about it. Thanks for the heads up though.
  7. Oh, I know. Just from the front cover appearance it presents better than an 8.0.
  8. So, just an extra strict grading day at the office?
  9. That 8.0 looks better than an 8.0. Did they just go too strict on it, is there something on the back cover, am I just not seeing clearly?
  10. It's a beauty! But I have a nice V2#3 and V2#5 (and V2#7). I need the even numbers!
  11. hahaha! what grade is it? mine isn't graded, but it would probably get at least an 8.5 or 9-something.
  12. Even in those days, finds like that were almost non-existent. I wish there had been dozens more.
  13. I think this one came from an antique store that had just purchased an estate. There was a nice stack of 1938 to 1941 comics. Bought them all. I think my Action 4 came from there as well. This would have been in the mid to late 1980s.
  14. Thanks! Books in that shape amaze me. They look like they could be on the new comic shelf today. Yet well older than my parents.
  15. I'm thinking how great this would look right in between my Vol.2#3 and Vol.2#5!
  16. Thanks! The More Fun has amateur restoration, The Flash, Superman and All Star 3 are unrestored. The Batman 1 was sold to me by Jerry Weist as unrestored, but it had some conservation done prior to that. I traded for the AA 16 from Sam Fraser as a VG 4.0, spine roll, and sent it to Bill Sarill to have that taken out.
  17. I can't remember the exact year, but it was in the late 80's early 90's. A local collector owned it, and a friend of mine had traded golden age with him before. My friend either didn't have enough books the guy wanted to trade for the Superman 1, or he just wasn't interested in trading it at the time. But my friend told me that he had a Superman 1. Eventually he told me he might be willing to trade it. I traded a Human Torch 1, a More Fun 67, a Circus, The Comic Riot #1, and some other books I can't recall. It's unrestored. As far as any back story to the book itself, prior to me getting it, I have no idea.
  18. I see it now. I was on my phone when I posted and I have sig lines turned off there.
  19. What a phenomenal comic! Never had that one, always wanted it. Isn't this the first costumed hero cover in the history of American comics?
