  1. So I asked experts on this question, three 19 year olds. All three of them said "that's not the character on Arrow" when I showed them the Long Bow Hunters miniseries. I then showed them the Green Arrow books. Same response. When I said "same name, same character" the response was - nope, different guy. Now THAT makes sense. We're getting old, aren't we...? I know for a fact I wasn't that ignorant at 19 They were not ignorant, as they were correct, it is a different guy now. Arrogant maybe, but not ignorant.
  2. FYI: Inhumans #11 (1975) is first app of Korath.
  3. Great interview with Matt! http://www.unleashthefanboy.com/news/interview-talking-mind-mgmt-matt-kindt/107338#!7mQzW I wonder what happened to that final page of issue 6.
  4. because i don't have the money to invest in slabbing. i'm always cash poor. if i find some book in a dollar box and i can flip it for $20-$40 even if it has $250 upside in a slab, i usually take it This is a quality answer. I have plenty of 9.8 quality books that I sell for nm raw prices for the same reason, even with a 9.8 upside. Especially if it's not a book I collect/consider to be key. (Livewire cough cough) My question was about the x-factor 24 specifically, a book I consider a classic key book, that I collect in high grade, and thus would not part with any of my own 9.8/ 9.8 quality copies, unless I was forced to, and even then, only if graded for maximum "no regret" selling. I have a box of 9.8 quality books I collect for my PC, and I would/will not even consider selling unless graded, and then still only if desperate for the money. Most anything 9.8 quality raw I sell is sold raw nm/nm+ listed condition, as I only sell what I don't collect, to buy more of what I do collect, and would never sell a raw listed as 9.8, as only third party graders and Divad are qualified to do that... As far as the topic of newbies and learning to be a quality seller, my 2258 and 100% feedback since 01' keeps me out of that discussion. Also, a low post count on these boards dosn't mean anything as far as experience, and only means that others have a whole lot more time on their hands. End of
  5. 9.8's go for $260. Why would you ever sell raw if it's is really "9.8 quality"?
  6. I asked my LCS to order me 10, even gave them the diamond code. After that they ordered 4x as many 7B than 7A. Now 7A is the rarer of the two covers round here. (thumbs u Only copy's left on the shelves are 7B
  7. This is gonna be a tough one in high grade. I'm up to fifteen copies, only two are 9.6/9.8. Spine ticks were a problem on this book when it shipped. Cheers!
  8. This thread is way better now. Go Pack Go! Let's just make this a secret NFL thread, better than any Livewire chatter.
  9. At least that's actually Livewire, not a 150lb heavier character with a similar boob window, that MAY have inspired Livewire years later... We all know there is a growing community of people that subscribe to the "first in print, anywhere, anyway, anyhow, even in a preview or ad, 1st appearance collectors club." I believe Mr Ween is the president and CEO of that club... Dang! People are still tryin' to trash Superman Adv 4. I don't know about you fellas but I enjoy seeing the cover of issue 5 rendered in black. When it was a buck or two all over the web last week I would have paid those prices for that art no matter where it was placed in the book. Same goes for the first appearance of this guy. I can't imagine this issue costs a lot anywhere. NM+ road trip find down I-5 about 15 minutes ago... Cheers!!

  11. Is this you behind the public-service announcement? That's awesome !!!!
  12. +1000000 Court. This is one of the stupidest things I have seen in comics in a long time. Auctions should just read "1st appearance of a guy with a blonde mustache, that kinda looks like another guys blonde mustache, on a completely different guy" People are dumb.
  13. The Character already has a future. Used heavily, and in a very awesome way, in war of kings, annihilation, and avengers arena recently... Next up: possible new herald of a certain purple planet eater maybe..?....
  14. Wow! Hadn't looked in a while, but prices have really taken a nose dive on this title! $17.00 for a 1-6 w/Ottley? Whoa! Was going to list another 1-6 set, but I'll just hold for now. Haven't seen a drop like that since NBC passed on The Sixth Gun...

  16. how do you know it was an $80 sale? was it yours or is there a way to see what the best offer is? It was $80
  17. Anyone ever ask CGC to encase a book from the back? Something like Rai 1 front facing, instead of Magnus 5? Was thinking of calling and asking if they would be able to re-case these two saga's front facing.
  18. Those may be the 1C/ reprint-due-to-name-change numbers. Watch out for the re- - print. If this book blows up, this 1C with the actual ongoing FBP title cover, and a ultra low 3.000 print run, will be in high demand. I went after the 1C when published and it was near impossible to find. Right now there are NO copy's available of the 1c on eBay, except a set with a copy included at auction... Cheers!
  19. Maybe. But the market sometimes rethinks things. Not often, so 360 is probably where it's at I guess. But these things do sometimes shift. Cap #360 to me is basically the same as Hulk #180. Except, in Hulk #180, Wolverine was actually named and had dialogue. One way the market could change its mind is if Crossbones actually becomes popular to the point where the people buying the comics are fans of the character and therefore want to read the story. I know if I was a fan of a character and bought a first appearance, I would feel pretty let down when I opened it and found three silent panels. If I buy something for a specific character, I want to read about that character! And if you want to read about Crossbones, #362 is where it's at, just as Hulk #181 is where it's at with Wolverine. We'll see, though. As first appearances go, #360 just isn't very satisfying to me, but it's at least better than a fist punching a wall. +1 I have been a fan of the character for a while now, and also feel 362 is the Crossbones book to own. I love his "The names Crossbones, darlin!" Intro scene from 362, and he's on the cover. I know the (early) market has spoken for now, but also agree that most people have not read the books and grab whatever is listed as first app on Wikipedia. I have plenty of both 360 and 362, but if I had to choose, as a fan, I would put it all on 362 in the long run as first full appearance. Cheers!
  20. +1. Picked up 2x 116 (1x newsstand), and 2x 129 at ECCC last weekend.
  21. Great pick-up, Court. Good to see you at ECCC, judging by that Batman 7 cover, seems the weekend went pretty well for ya. Cheers!
  22. I'm gonna say cameos don't apply to a characters "return".
