  1. Here is some stuff I did in my teen years about 30 years ago. Most were drawn from actual reference material. I keep saying that I will get back to drawing, just haven't yet. But I will. Sure there will be a lot of rust. May attempt to try do things both old school (paper) and new school (digital).
  2. Was curious about people getting stuff from Kickstarter. Was going to post a new thread till I found this one. Glad I did. So far, for me, I've backed 3 comic book related kickstarters. Ron Marz, Darryl Banks Team for WW2 Harken’s Raiders Comic Kevin Eastman's DRAWING BLOOD, Vol. 1: A Graphic Novel Elders of the RuneStone (Quinn Johnson and Robert Atkins) Of the 3, I have in my hands the Drawing Blood GN (+ bonus of Radically Rearranged Ronin Ragdolls) (see pics below). For Elders of the RuneStone, which I believe is to be 5 issues, I have received the first 3 issues digitally (as expected). Harken's Raiders Comic is planned to be delivered in March of 2019 and I am optimistic I will receive it sometime in March.
  3. I just checked my settings because I do get emails from being mentioned. Albeit a little slow in receiving the notification. Did you check your Spam folder? They may have been marked as Spam and go there instead. My current settings show as follows for receiving emails. Along with a screenshot of receiving a notification email.
  4. That is awesome. I hope one day I can be that close.
  5. My first LCS was Comic Kingdom in Detroit, MI. I remember we would always go when my cousin from PA was in town. He was big into comics and helped introduce me to them as well. Probably the first time I went was around the age of 7 or 8. Was always amazed at how many comic books there were. Looking around at all of the cool posters. Unfortunately neither the original nor the sequel (Comic Kingdom II in a suburb) are around anymore.
  6. Happy to say that my "dork dungeon" has been restored to its everyday dorkiness. Thanks to insurance I was able to replace the damaged ASM 299 with a nicely slabbed version. Just waiting for it to arrive.
  7. Thank you. Hadn't thought about Marvel Team-Ups. I think my next goal is to get my complete run of Marvel GI Joe. I had it at one point, but sold it (seller's remorse big time). Then I may move on to Spectacular Spider-Man.
  8. Thanks. Great story. Amazing how these books can bring up great memories.
  9. It's been awhile for me as well. I am currently taking on the challenge of reading at least the first volume of Amazing Spider-Man. Reading 1-2 books a day during lunch break. Currently have #18 queued up next.
  10. I am happy to say I now have a complete run of Web Of Spider-Man. Thanks to a fellow board member that I got the last piece from. It is a complete run, but it does have a mix of newsstand and direct editions. Took a little time to chip away and get each, but love the process of scavenging for each one.
  11. 23/100 - Which is more than I thought it would have been. Due to it being heavy in Spider-Man, that helped since I majority of my comics are Spider-Man related.
  12. Got these this week thanks to a fellow board member.
  13. While I am nowhere at the level of what I am seeing, I got this back recently. Graded much better than I thought it would.
  14. Thanks. Not the way I expected to start my weekend.
  15. There were a lot of F-bombs at first but upon reflection I realize it isn't too bad.
  16. That is correct. That is why it could have been worse. All of my more "collectible" comics were on the shelves off the floor and on the other side of the room. Was really bummed about ASM 298 considering I just got it and had planned on submitting it. The desk area is where I bag and board my new books. Just happened to have the 298 and a 306 (which somehow survived with no damage thankfully).
  17. House was built in 1979. We moved in about 2 1/2 years ago.
  18. So this happened to me today. The above our the "before" pictures. Below are the after. Came home to a busted pipe and water EVERY where. Can't tell what exactly happened, but damage was above my desk and computer set up. Water spread pretty good. Was thankful I put my books on the shelving about a month or so ago. Could have been much worse. The only damage was done was to some recent issues purchased but also a recent acquisition of ASM 299 from @ft88 was damaged. Which makes me very sad. Was pleasantly surprised to see that some books that were exposed but were in bags were well protected.
  19. I have the 3 omnibuses( omnibusi?) for Invincible. Love the art and the story. More information about the voice actors. https://deadline.com/2019/01/invincible-cast-steven-yeun-j-k-simmons-robert-kirkman-amazon-series-1202546501/
  20. Thought I was going to be done for a bit, but just can't help myself. I will take the following, if still available. More to my pile. Kraven's Last Hunt: Complete set $22.00 Amazing Spider-Man #179 VF+ 8.5 $8.00 Amazing Spider-Man #232 NM- 9.2 $5.00 Amazing Spider-Man #234 NM 9.4 $5.00
  21. Any and all input is appreciated. *still learning my way around here*
