  1. Pretty sure that is Duke. But can understand the uncertainty. In the early books, they did look a lot a like as they both did have the blonde hair. Later Hawk was portrayed with brown hair (IIRC). That is still a cool painting!!
  2. Watched the first two episodes and liking what've seen so far. I have read the original series (twice) and, maybe I'm not remembering it correctly, but I don't remember Omni-man being as much of a in the beginning? Or maybe it's part of the accelerated version for the series. Either way, I agree in that it captures the feel of the source material. Wife is already trying to figure out why certain things happened and I am doing my best to not spoil it for her. Which is hard to do.
  3. That's awesome. I have found the higher GI Joes are harder to come by or are at a premium price. I've been trying to re-acquire my GI joe collection that I foolishly sold 20 yrs ago.
  4. A must here: Any sequels do not exist... and you can't convince me otherwise.
  5. Wife and I just got done watching. Thought it was a great start. Giving some good background on the characters. Showing them having normal human issues. Action was great. Wife commented that it felt more like a movie than a TV show. Was bummed we only got one episode, was hoping for 2 like WandaVision.
  6. I am like others, I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu (free via mobile provider), and HBO Max (started as a trial, yet still hasn't expired or been sent a bill). I will say the HBO Max app on my SmartTV is horrible. Captions work/then don't work. Lots of times where I have to re-start the application to get back to the main menu. I do like the streaming release on the same day as theatre release. Pretty cool to have something to look forward to each month (assuming it is something I want to watch).
  7. Not sure this has been mentioned or not... at least not that I saw. A movie that is highly quotable.
  8. The Natural is one of my all time favorites.
  9. Long time ago, I got to meet the "Hanson" brothers. Got a picture with them (don't have it anymore). Great bunch of guys.
  10. A few more movies that I either meant something to me as a kid or I just thoroughly enjoyed. Finding Forrester Space Camp (always wanted to go - cousins got to go ) Red Dawn (original not remake) The Color of Money ( a sequel, kind of, to The Hustler) The Last Dragon ("Who's the master?")
  11. It can happen 20+ pages, I am sure there are other repeats.
  12. 100% ... even posted it earlier in the thread.
  13. blasphemy!!! it has kung fu fighting robots!!!!!
  14. Before there was Spaceballs, there was Hardware Wars!!!
  15. Totaling only about an hour's worth of time (10 5 min + 1 10 min episodes or 1 60 min "movie"). I enjoyed this take on GI Joe.
  16. My wife and I watched To kill a Mockingbird just a few weeks ago. She had never seen it (she's from the Philippines, so it's understandable). I had seen this movie so many times in school, first time watching outside of a school setting, such a great movie.
  17. I've never watched the Marathon Man movie, but loved the book. Another movie I'll have to check out.
  18. I hadn't heard of that movie. I'll check it out. Thanks!
  19. I've watched Ronin, Leon, and Heat so many times. (Granted there are some scenes in Heat with Al Pacino I fast forward - family scenes - but love the movie).
  20. For some cheesy, entertaining, not thinking fun: Ice Pirates The Wraith (made my wife watch it, and she didn't get it ).
