Vancouver Comic & Toy Show - June 18th 2017
Flatliner1313 replied to Flatliner1313's topic in Comic Events
@greggy won't be attending, so the pre-show shopping Bonanza will be less competitive. The ferocious Roast of @aardvark88 will also be less competitive. Our dollar boxes, while always legendary, will be extra legendary this time. @Thanos88 and I will retain our titles. -

Overall I give this show a thumbs up. PROS: Free Admission Lots of space to move around Artists seem happier at this low key show I didn't see most of the savages that I see at other Vancouver comic shows Great Venue, great part of town to be in on a nice sunny day CONS: No Keys -

Ron Randall was a lot of fun to talk to, and is a very nice guy. He did this Zatanna for me. I also bought a WW print for Nick, of 8Th Dimension Comics. -

Renee Nault wasn't doing any commissions, but she did draw inside of my copy of The Witchling, which I bought or my wife. She kind of reminds me of St. Vincent. -

I picked up a book called "A Wolf in the Wood" by Tory Woollcott, and she did this little doodle for me. She is from Toronto. Despite that, we roasted Toronto and she put over Vancouver as the superior city. Toronto is basically a parking lot with a mayor. Just a needlessly large version of Edmonton. -

At this point Greggy was complaining I didn't get anything for him. So I said to Tida's friend, Charissa, "F it, give me a whale". So here is a Killer Whale for @greggy -

Here is a Thanos I picked up for @Thanos88, by Steve Lieber. And I also got him to do Pretzels the Dog for me. We had a good conversation about Peanuts (The comic, not the food) and Airport Beagles. -

I had a good day at the show. First time I had attended. Picked up lots of art. I will do a rundown. Here is a piece by Jonathan Case, which I arranged pre-show. -

This week's episode was excellent. And Blaine wasn't in it. Maybe there's a connection between those 2 statements.

The Inhumans look Bush. -
Is it just me or is this Peyton / BLaine romance just absolute trash? It is killing the show for me.

Negan strikes me as the type that would want to take the tiger very, very much. -

This episode was softer than cotton panties. The only parts I really enjoyed were Shiva chowing on some jobbers, and the dedication to Bernie. Disappointing season. Seems like they're trying to stretch out certain stuff more than they should, and there is a lot of filler going on. -
Sounds like 57 tables of junk. 58 if you count Aardvark's And I know that Greggy does.

HAWKMAN 4 CGC 9.4 with OW/W PAGES $4500 (According to GPA, Last 9.2 sale was $3,000 and last 9.6 Sale was $7,000. $4500 seems like a nice middle ground, without any 9.4 Data since 2015.) -
