  1. He also posted here @BVladimirHarkonnen Nexus=Felix
  2. I don't think the auction has a thread as it was overall pretty average or below even for a focused auction, but the hammer price on this Daniel Warren Johnson commission blew me away. $8,900 USD It's 11x14 and a stand out piece. Most of DWJ's commissions have really been outstanding, and I don't know what they go for from Felix, but that had to make the consignor happy. Awesome for DWJ too, who is quickly reaching Tradd Moore territory. That's like 9/10's of a MiracleMan #1 Cover
  3. I'll be going Friday. No agenda other than to look around and soak in the comic world as a good excuse to take off work. Doesn't appear to have any art dealers outside of Anthony's Comic Art. Hope to say hi to him, let him know how fun Dueling Dealers has been, and to meet Chris Bachalo who I'm a huge fan of.
  4. I’m nowhere near this end of the pool, but…$100K feels like the over/under line.
  5. I’m going with this too. For all the “kinda Cable connection”, very well crafted page art-wise, pure Whilce as opposed to the Whilce/Scott Clark/various, etc things that this page has going for it, I don’t think it’s that nuanced.
  6. Prices are going so crazy, I bought a few pages from Coollines and I think I actually got a deal. New additions here:https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=50616
  7. romitaman has one ($400), but it’s after Morrison’s run. Coollines have a ton from Morrison’s run. Don’t see much else.
  8. Welcome! What is the story with the Batman, Moon Knight and Shadow underneath Daredevil? I like it a lot, it adds a very unique quality to the piece.
  9. That story has been around for a bit. On McFarlane's blog here he describes the pages: https://mcfarlane.com/blog/wayback-wednesday-frank-miller/ And discussed on the boards here a bit:
  10. “When a piece becomes available, you cannot hesitate and have to be ready to go all out because it will likely never be available again.” ”There is always another piece around the corner.” Both of these are true. Just something that’s been running through my mind recently.
  11. One on the upcoming ComicLink Auction: https://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FPREVIEW.ASP%3Fcode%3D2021feb%26itemtype%3D1%23Item_1453050&id=1453050&itemType=1
  12. There are a lot of posts about the $$value on the back of pages being ironically low. Here’s the opposite. I saw this Ex Machina page at Tony Harris’s table (Baltimore CC, maybe 2006?) with a back of the page pencil cost of $800. It was way out of my budget at the time, but I returned to look at it several times. Alas I couldn’t swing it. A couple years later it popped up on eBay for $400. I bought it.
  13. $15k for the Howard Porter JLA #1 cover is something I think will get looked back upon as a great buy. In fact I’m looking upon it now...congrats to the buyer! I was out around 10, but shocked it was close. Iconic series, #1 issue, great rendering of the DC big guns. Maybe because Howard Porter isn’t really revered as much as others? Great buy.
  14. My bad! I couldn’t easily put a face to a username, but it’s great to now do so. Muppet babies need more love.
  15. There’s a thread in Marketplace that is also discussion so figured I’d start one here for any thoughts or comments on Comic Art Live which wrapped today. Share any panels you enjoyed, art you bought, or any other thoughts. I’ll start! Thanks to Bill Cox! I’ve really realized how much I appreciate CAF and all Bill does to make this community thrive. I haven’t been to any cons outside of Baltimore, but this was fun to see what everyone brought out, “walking the floor”. Enjoyed the panel with Tradd and Felix, another thank you to Felix for doing more than his share to bring a sense of community to the hobby. Anthony’s livestream from his warehouse was fun. The steam was “cinema verite”, but that added to it. Cool to see boardies @Unstoppablejayd and @AnkurJ wheeling and dealing. Caught a little of Matt Wagner’s video which was also insightful and cool. I thought there was a great variety of art for sale. Some new some old. Some priced to sell, some not. But still I applaud everyone who participated and made it eventful to check it all out. I bought one Page, which had been for sale forever on CAF and eBay which I’d always found myself checking out and figured I’d pull the trigger to participate. A Mark Texiera Black Panther page for a decent price. I don’t see a lot of those pages on CAF nor for sale and think it was a seminal run to introduce the modern Black Panther back in Marvel Knights era. Thanks again to all, that was fun!
  16. If you haven’t yet, check with Artcoholics.net Pepe’s rep. It’s all digital. I think they did some Artists Proofs which sold if I recall correctly, but not everything.
  17. Love the Cassara page! He’s been a stand out to me on the recent X-books, I wasn’t sure if it was digital. Did he have a rep or did you reach out to him direct?
  18. I just got this Swamp Thing commission in the mail today from James Stokoe via Cadence Comic Art. I think it's appropriately spooky for the season. Over the moon with how it turned out.
  19. It does appear his art is no longer available via Splash Page Art. I’m not sure if that was his official rep, but used to have a ton of Cameron Stewart pages which have been removed.
  20. 2 year bump:)...still looking for any leads on the page listed above. Willing to pay top dollar for it. Would love to know if it exists in a collection somewhere. Thanks.
  21. Great pickup. Well drawn by Silverstri, I like the last two panels with Pyslocke’s powers and the Colossus in panel 4. Always cool to see a boardie-boardie deal, especially helping fulfill a goal!
  22. I kinda always thought they try not to post everything while their Focused Auctions are going on so they don’t stymie bids there if bidders hold off for the Featured. With the frequency of auctions it’s kind of a tough game, for me as a buyer I’m always thinking there may be something to hold off for on the next auction. So, yeah I’m hoping for some more in the Clink Summer auction once the Focused auction closes.
  23. LOVE this Mike. Congrats! It's a stand out among a great collection. Now you can leave some Bachalo Gen X to the rest of us:) I'm still on the hunt for my #1 page from that series.
  24. The real question here is how much that full commissioned booked costs??!!! Holy moly. We need that story on a Felix Podcast:) They’ve all been gorgeous, and it’ll be a true one of a kind, but...man!
  25. I found it mildly interesting that Jim was tagging all the winners on Instagram at the beginning. Just so used to not knowing who buys what, to see them tagged and seeing OA stuff move to social platforms rather than chat boards and mailing lists adds a fun dynamic:) He’s stopped doing it, wonder if there was a reason.
