  1. Exactly! He loves his fans, especially the hard core ones. He is a really nice guy though and loves to talk people's ears off. Not a bad thing unless you don't have the time or patience to wait in line.
  2. I fully agree! If I can't attend a show, and I really want a signature, I'm going to need someone to get that for me. So facilitators are needed and the good ones get the job done! Does suck is Rob wants a cut of their charge as well, which may mean facilitators will have to charge more and then everyone loses in the end.
  3. But seriously, let's just combine everybody with everybody within their comic publisher....no wait, even better, let's mashup DC & MARVEL...and let's call it AMALGAM COMICS!!!
  4. The list of good-guy sellers is hopefully longer than the bad-guy sellers on eBay but it would ridiculous to put a threat of that on here. Like it was said, I think you need to figure you out yourself by looking at the seller's Feedback page (pretty much what it is meant for). If they have some really shady feedback = don't buy from them. Also, the most recent feedback can pretty much determine how they are. I've been wheeling and dealing on eBay since 2002 and most of my transactions have been good because I do my homework. Definitely recommend looking through the EBAY: BLOCKED USER LIST if you want to narrow down the bad people. If eBay really scares you that much, take a look at the selling threads. Definitely some good people on here selling some good quality stuff as well. A list of good peeps: rasmus2 twincitiescomics thirdeyecomicsonline djmartini_store
  5. OMG that is something I have never noticed until now and I will never be able to get out of my head! I definitely enjoy his 70's & 80's classic covers but his stuff now is not all that great, in my opinion. I do have to give him credit though for still writing & drawing in his age. I see him at cons and his booth is lined with all sorts of prints and variants. Unfortunately, his price keeps on going up and up for his signature and sketches.
  6. Yes, at least one cover I am NOW looking forward to!!!!
  7. Yeah, we definitely don't know the circumstances, so waiting to see first what the deal is before I assume anything. He was doing lot of "private signings" lately, so it could stem from that. With everyone and their mother wanting a book signed from Liefeld these days, the high price for a New Mutants sig could be in question or how a signing was conducted. Hopefully cooler heads with prevail and this will hopefully be resolved. (Might make a CGC SS book signed by Liefeld more valuable now???)
  8. Awesome collection! I do think he is over saturating the market with his covers but as long as they sell well, best of luck to JSC! He did do a Jean Grey (Black Queen) cover that never made it to the set Phoenix Resurrection set. I probably would have gotten that as my first book ever from his store. I definitely think his Gen13, Danger Girl & Spider-man covers were his best.
  9. Wow, that stinks. This is why I try to put insurance on most slabs that I sell. It doesn't cost much and gives the buyer a little peace of mind. Plus tons of Bubble Wrap goes a looooong way! But on what should be done, definitely a SS pile for later or return them unless you got a good bargain. The seller definitely needs to take responsibility though....and yes, who is this seller????
  10. Or Shinji Tōdō ...Google that Spider-man!!!
  11. Holy Season 1 part 2 is tomorrow!!! At least I'm ready....
  12. omg, why have I not been following this thread...thanks!
  13. I think the reason back cover signatures have not caught on is due to the fact that a lot of books don't have good space on the back cover for a signature. Most modern books have ads or whatnot that take up the back cover, so there is either no room or space for a good signature. Plus, no reason for the cover artist, writer, editor or inker to sign an ad on the back cover, right? The other reason is that the front cover has the art and names of the people ideal to sign the book. Also for display purposes, the incapsulated book is usually shown with either the front or back showing and for the most part the front cover is the most appealing to see, as it has the name, title, writer, author, etc. showing the specifics of the book. Also, the incapsulated information shows larger and better on the front. Now, in the example of specialized book, such as the Aspen covers, they actually may be room that signature would be better, as to not interrupt the great art piece on the front. I have seen this done a few times for incapsulated books because the owner does not want to interrupt the art. At the end of the day though, it is still the owner's preference. If the back would be better, go for it!
  14. Hey GarBear, Great post and information. I am big a fan of Yusagi Yojimbo and have a Albedo #4 myself. The character is great and looking forward to the series! As for the books, I think they will always be hard to find in high grades, since I believe most people did know the value of the book when it first came out. Hopefully you fill in your missing issues, especially #2! As for Stan Sakai, he is a great person and humble about his career. His creation is one of the best and I hope all goes well with him and the tv series. I just hope it lasts for a long time to come. I think it has been a long time coming for a tv series. That's my thoughts for now!
  15. I fully agree with darkstar - great statement! WWBN 32 will always be a key but in low numbers, even if a tv show or movie is made. Walkind Dead #1 will always more popular due to the tv show, impact on movie/tv shows and of course it being a modern book. I'd rather have a WWBN 32 just because Moon Knight is one of my favorite characters, and I even dressed as him for Halloween once!
