  1. What parts of the country do they live/drive in? How many years with the company? What kind of hours per work week are they putting in?
  2. What parts of the country do they live/drive in? How many years with the company? What kind of hours per work week are they putting in? I'm in Florida and no idea how many years or how many hours just know I know multiple of them that do And I believe in employee of Fed ex is also chimed in this thread I was not doubting you. I was just asking because I know a guy who is in the market for this kind of gig. But not sure if he drives the big rigs i.e. like the Fed Ex Ground big rigs vs. the delivery route trucks. I would venture to guess the fed ex big rig drivers make more money but that is just a guess.

  6. If no policy, ship USPS registered mail. Only way to go and you can get protection for up to $50K. .
  7. If my understanding is correct from the context in this thread, that $4K FMV was just pulled out of proverbial hat for the sake of CGC/picking a stated value on the form. I do believe the real value of this piece/slab (what it would fetch in the open market) is significantly >$4K. And the total out of pocket cost for the OP is in fact > $4K.
  8. I have some (official CGC logo) extra in near mint condition. They were assembled one time for a demo. They come in a 5 pack. I can sell the 5 pack cheap @ $25 + shipping....but just need to confirm shipping cost. PM me if you want.
  9. Highest recommendation. Awesome to deal with. Superior communication and very reliable. Thanks.
  10. This same scenario just happened to me with Express saver. Looked like the package just went off the grid. And then ended up going back to the sender. There was an issue with the address. The particular driver filling in that day was not familiar with this turf and the unique particulars of the office building. Had similar last year as well where the tracking was stale and package was not where it should have been, time/turnaround wise, but I can not recall if it was UPS or FedEx. I will look it up in my old email folders. I know a very active buyer/seller who uses Fed Ex all the time. I will run his scenario by you and see if he has any input.

  14. $26,290 final. That is astounding. In 2009 or early 2010, there were two of these 9.4s that sold within a month of each other on CL for around $4300 a piece. I do not know if they were bidding style auctions or in the seller/marketplace listing. A 9.6 slab sometime in 2011 sold for $22K on CL as well. So given the multiple on the 9.4 went up 6X where would you peg the hammer price on the 9.6 presently - looks like a 6 figure book now? Good question. I don't think you are far off. It is hard to imagine a $100,000 bronze age book, but that would be the one. If a 9.8 ever shows up, that would do it. Someone sent me a message and pointed out there was a previous sale of the other 9.6 before the sale above I mentioned and that one was for $26K (which at that point in time it looks like the census was only one.) The census on this issue has not budged in many years now (talking about @ 9.6 that is) there are still only two. Never say never, but the hammer price on a hypothetical 9.8 would shock some folks for sure. Out of the current two 9.6s though it looks like they are both tied up in private collections. Its been over five years now and if one of these were owned by a speculator you would think it would have surfaced by now given the multiples on the lower grades.

  18. So a few weeks ago I decided to punt and sell my high grade IH 181 slab. And after this event I did what any responsible mature adult comic collector would do........ Over the next two weeks I proceeded to buy over 200 lbs of raw comics ranging all the way from Gold --> Copper. Its very time consuming as you know to bag/board/tape/log. I grabbed a few comics from the current long box I am going through to try out my new scanner. Here goes.... This is one of those covers that is permanently etched from my early comic days as a kid. I could not tell you how many times I read this comic. Got this one tucked in with 72mil thick of 100% acid free back board bliss
  19. Heads up. Check your inboxes and/or email. 10% VIP ebay bucks promo just hitting now to activate. Minimum purchase of $100.
  20. What would be a good price to pay for a slabbed coverless AF 15 NG 0.5? Comic is 100% whole and in tact. Only note on label is "coverless"
  21. Great transaction and superior communication. Very reliable and recommended community member. Thanks.
