Hello boardies.  I'm taking my family on a vacation to Japan this coming December and it is time to sell some books to fund it.  Know that a purchase from this thread will help to broaden the young minds of my kids (age 12 and 15) as they experience the wonderful culture of Japan.  I used to live there and haven't been back for 15 years so I'm pretty pumped about it.  Anyway, on to terms and conditions.

All prices are in USD and ship free within Canada.  I am in Canada and prefer to sell to my fellow Canucks.  So Canadians, here's your chance to get some good books without having to pay customs!

Outside of Canada there will be an additional shipping fee to be determined by location.  If you're from the US contact me for a shipping quote.   (I have to ship with courier to get enough insurance on the book as Canada Post will only insure up to $1000 internationally).

    No returns.

    Paypal accepted.

Canadians can get a discount if we use EFT.  Further discount if you come pick up the books from me in person.  I live in Swift Current, SK. right on the #1 highway.

I will consider reasonable offers but no low balls please.

First :takeit: in the post trumps any pm bargaining.  If you tell me you'll take it in a pm I will ask you to post in the forum to confirm.  Until then its still fair game.

    Books and prices to follow.

    Dane Whitman version.

This is not surprising.  However, you can't have Dane Whitman without the legacy of Sir Percy.  The origin of the ebony blade, unless they change it drastically will have to include Sir Percy and Merlin.  I personally would love to see a Marvel Medieval version of the black knight set in Camelot.  I think it would be fantastic, but probably doesn't fit into the grander scheme of things.  One shot stories aren't really Marvel's mojo.

I live in Japan and wish I had a nice shakuhachi to trade you.  I have a 13 string koto sitting in my house that I can hardly give away. :shy:

    GLWTS!

Already have a Koto unfortunately, however if you ship it to me I'll certainly take another one for free!

A note to say that I will probably not be able to answer any inquiries until tomorrow night now, (working in a prison tomorrow where no cell phones are allowed).  Will do my best to answer questions when I "get out".

  4. Hi all,

I play a Japanese instrument called a Shakuhachi (end blown bamboo flute).  There are all different lengths of these.  I've been playing what they call a 1.8 (that's the length in feet) for a while now and I want to buy a 2.4 (which can play significantly lower notes)

These flutes however are notoriously expensive.  Thus today's sale.

How this is going to work.  I only need to sell one of these!  I've put all three up for sale, but as soon as one of these books sells, the thread closes!

    FF #5 CGC 3.0 OW pages.     $3500

    Avengers #1 CGC 3.0 SS       $3300

    Strange Tales #110 CGC 6.5  $3200

Prices include shipping to Canada and the US.  If you're in Canada, you are who I prefer to sell to and you can save customs charges!!  Book will ship with tracking and signature required.  I'm pretty quick at shipping, usually within 3 days, but often next day.

No returns on the books.  What you see is what you will receive.

    Paypal accepted.

First Unconditional :takeit:in the threads trumps any back-room negotiations.  If we cut a deal in PM, you need to stamp the board to make it official.  First time stamped gets it.

I hate to part with any of these but more beautiful zen music calls my name.  Being Buddhist, I'm not supposed to hold on to these worldly items anyway....

    pics to follow.

Meh, plenty of tricks left in the bag. Let’s see a western ghost rider, black knight trilogy set in medieval times, namor’s underwater world, etc...even though cosmic is obviously in our future, there’s some cool genre mashing opportunities I hope they explore to keep things fresh and fend off fatigue...

I like the way you think!  The western ghost rider could be particularly interesting....

I would also love to see Black Knight in Medieval times rather than Dane Whitman

No, the 10c Atlas is the original printed in the US. Miller then secured the rights to print their own version in the UK. The 6d copy is a reprint, tailored to the UK market, not a first printing price variant of the US original.  Still nice though, but that price is eye watering.

Yeah that price is ridiculous.  If it was reasonable I'd probably pick it up.  Maybe they'll take an offer....? :roflmao:

Thanks for your expertise!  Appreciate it!

Yep, GCD is correct, it's a reprint. L Miller were prolific reprinters of US material. It wasn't until 1960 that they solicited first printings with pence prices on them (see my Marvel / Charlton threads)

So would there be an actual atlas pence printing that would have been released in the UK  previous to this L Miller one?

  8. Take a look at this book

I'm not familiar with atlas UK editions but this one looks very different from the US version.  Black and white interior, different back cover, etc.  My experience with Marvel UK is they're pretty much exactly the same but pence instead of cents on the cover.  Anybody with knowledge about this out there?

I went looking for a club for this awesome rare book, and couldn't find one so I thought I would start it up.  I'm interested to see how many boardies have a copy of this one!

This is undervalued in my opinion.

First appearance of Sir Percy, the original Black Knight

First appearance of the Ebony Blade, a legacy weapon that is among the most powerful in the marvel universe.

First appearance of Morgan Le Fay

These significant first appearances combined with the rarity, puts this as a key book.

Here are my copies of #1 and #2.  These are hard to find in any condition.  I'd like to complete the set at some point.

Why have one beat up copy when you can have two beat up copies!!

This arrived for me today :)

This title's covers and art seemed like a labor of love for Maneely. The detailing on the armor and the clothing is amazing.

This is the Bethlehem copy of #4

Totally agree.  The detail is astounding.  I especially love the work on the shield on #5.  The way its battered and beat up is wonderful.  He could have just drawn a normal shield but nope.  Maneely was one of the greats.

Do you own these ones as well???!!!  :insane:
