well after two weeks of hounding by square trade, ebay and Paypal ( which virtually did nothing!) the guy refunded my money and apologized! didn't say where he got the picture for the auction, though. Lifted probably. i lost about 7 on the shipping, but lesson learned!

thanks guys! well I would like to assume that this was an honest mistake, except for the fact that when i tried to call the guy, a lady answered and said, " No, there is no Dominic here, you have the wrong number" Plus the fact that he has not responded to any emails. Yes, i have encountered "lifting" on other auctions before. And once, the guy totally admitted it was not his scan, and apologized and refunded my money two weeks later. That i can understand. So, i did not leave a negative feedback. Can't ebay do something about lifting? i know alot of auctioneers do watermarking now on their photos, but it certainly gets in the way of taking a look at the comics. In fact, the guy who bidded on my tomb of dracula 48 variant over a month ago, has never paid me. Even, after several emails. But, I am not going to leave him negative feedback, because I will just cancel the auction and keep the variant!! His loss, I figure. My 35 cent variant count is up to only 10 , though. Hard to find as you know. I have about 30 30 cent variants. I plan to do major slabbing next year, but if i ever run into extra copies of the ones i have, i'll offer them up here first! I would be wary from now on about auctions from Vegas. Mainly because Craigslist had some similar scams going on a couple of months ago from Vegas too. Any relation, I wonder? but no response from this guy, and i will definitely leave a negative!! Frank

hey guys, just wanted to post a little warning about a guy out in Vegas: Avengers 164 Variant yes used the buy it now. waited a week and i got THE REGULAR 30 CENT ISSUE!!! when i tried to contact the buyer did not respond to any emails. called the number he left at ebay and that is not his number. paypal will not honor their protection policy, seems it has nothing to do with goods, only if the shipment does not arrive or is never shipped. What a gimmick for paypal! filed a square trade complaint. waiting to hear. Any of you guys ever deal with this guy? Seems like a vegas scam to me. any suggestions on what i should do next? appreciate the help!

regarding the 30 cent marvel 's greatest 74, check out this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33827&item=2284298013&rd=1 seems there are more out there. part of a multi pack? i have seen some of those 30 centers with diamond around in SF. i might have a couple, but don't quite know where they are.

thanks for the info, Terry! my 187 Fantastic Four Variant has a thin red line at the top left. Not exactly too sure where it came from, though. Still trying to figure out why the inside indicia list 35 cents as the cover price.

don't know what a distribution code is. but the numbers below the 187 Oct is 02462? no other marks i can find. says on the indicia it was distributed in the United States and Canada. maybe it was the very last comic of all the variants to be distributed? don't know.

hey gang, just picked up a Fantastic Four 187 , 35 cent variant over the weekend. Noticed something a bit different. along with the 35 cent cover, the indicia on the first page, states that the price is 35 cents. Is this normal for the latter 35 cent variants? The other 35 cent variants i have indicate that the price is 30 cents in the indicia. check your copies and let me know.

hi club members, i have paid attention to your posts, and tried to be a member but i must withdraw, i could not be a big time hoarder like most of you! my loss is your gain! i have posted the only five 35 cent price variants i have on ebay!
