  1. Keeping this thread aligned with East of West...

I was lucky enough to meet Giancarlo Esposito at a con last month and get this EoW #4 blank with his famous Gus Fring quote

Before you ask, yes I am Mexican, a Mexican who collects comic books is unheard of!!

    20131108_185022_zps91679285.jpg

Here is the verbiage from the cover...

"What does a man do Walter? A man provides for his family. And he does it even when he's not appreciated, or respected, or even loved. He simply bears up and he does it. Because he's a man."

Giancarlo really liked the comment request from me and we were speaking in Spanish!! Really awesome, quiet man.

    Love me some Gus!

  2. I hope you guys have good luck on Alias. It was a pretty good series.

Arrested Development was nothing if not great ( I haven't seen the Netflix stuff ) and I thought it was a cult hit. Immediately popular ? Maybe not, but it definitely has staying power. 2c

    +1

Arrested Development Seasons 1-3 was fantastic and was most definitely a cult hit. It could never be mainstream b/c unfortunately the general public is dumb like sand. A lot of the humor "slipped" through the cracks. I was devastated by how disappointing the Netflix season turned out. The song "Afternoon Delight" will forever bring a smile to my face thanks to that show.

Dumb like sand ? That gave me a belly laugh. Please don't forget that "Afternoon Delight" is popular not only on TV but it's also one of the greatest scenes in Anchorman lol

    "I love Scotch"

  4. We getting off track again? More cardboard pics? Need more 'cardboard porn'?

    :slapfight:

How much do you think an autographed/bandana swatch Rookie Card of "The Ranger" that was a True 1/1 graded a BGS 9.5 w/ a 10 Auto would go for on the open market?

    :D

  5. Not a huge Cutler fan myself, but he's better than the Bears have had in quite some time. I met Rey Maualuga in Cinci when I went to a Bengals game a couple years ago.

Amazing Sweetness cars RH, that is pure awesomeness

This has gotten so off topic...

I was impressed w/ McCown Monday.

  6. I also started out collecting cards but gave that up years ago. Also, as a huge Bears fan, just wanted to say I hate Brett Favre

I am a Bengals Fan and I hate Jay Cutler...now for the purpose of full disclosure that has nothing to w/ him being a Bear and everything to do w/ him being an overrated hat!

    Also EoW is the tits.

  7. IJust the other day, I found my Brett Favre BGS 10 RC

    '91 Stadium or '92 Stadium Hi #?

    TBP,

They going to kick us out for speaking in cardboard. I am referring to his 91 UER RC as I have a few of them laying around my house collecting dust. :censored:

I also collect sportscards, BTW. I have a large collection of BGS 10s :insane::banana:

    R_H

ahh yes. early UD stock is BGS 10 Friendly :)

and yes, these comic geeks dont want to hear about cards lol

    Just for you buddy...

    91SCFavreBGS10.jpg

Don't kill me 'comic geeks' as TBP said above :jokealert:

Do you think he is wearing a pair of Wranglers underneath the pads?

  8. I don't buy it.

Look at arrested development, all interest in the series was lost after the first new season dropped on Netflix.

I don't see Alias having too much of a bump up because of this new Netflix deal. 2c

One of the biggest disappointments in TV history for me. Netflix Arrested Development was like watching Willie Mays play for the Mets. My eyes began to bleed.

  9. Ya... I really wanted this book and kinda had a nuclear snipe set for 3 sec to go.

    :applause:

Congrats Za!!! :hi: Big winna on that one. I think you made the right call as I doubt one will be hitting the bay for a very, very long time (if ever). It's good to know a fan got to pick it up. I half expected some wealthy half fan to snatch it up and lock it away in a vault.

You got the cream of the crop of this series that's for sure. Congrats again!

Jealousy doesn't begin to describe my feelings. This is on my shortlist of items I feel I must have for my collection. Timing is everything. I have spent about $3000 on comics the last 6 weeks. If this had gone up at the end of September Za Crew and I would have done the "Man Dance" (Way of Gun reference...and if you have not seen the Movie I highly suggest a viewing of the opening scene if nothing else). Either way I must congratulate you. Just an awesome piece. This comic is just so much fun. It reminds me of the old "serial" TV adventures that I would go watch on Saturday Afternoon at the local Movie Theater.

  10. Totally shocked by the price. I was expecting $150-165 lol

If i could have gotten it for $165 i would have driven to Frank's House in a Uhaul (helped him move) and then let him staple my face to his Area Rug just for & giggles! I bid it all the way up to $700 and then realized that my wife would give birth to our 5th @&$king child (immaculate conception BTW) if i would have won. Of course she isnt aware of the $610 in committed money i owe for some comics. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Frank probably has another one so he might just take you up on that lol

    Mutha@$&ing roadtrip person_without_enough_empathyezzzzzzzz!!!! :)

  12. For me it is the best comic going. Just personal preference maybe but I think it is superior to Saga. Todd the Ugliest is the only other comic I enjoy as much but for completely different reasons. Five Ghosts is my guilty pleasure. Just a pot full of fun.

  13. How about a game of "Would You Rather"?!!!.

Would you rather never get to enjoy another issue of Todd?

    Or:

Would you rather have a "Man-hating Bull Dyke" kick you in the Nutsack every morning to start your day?

I would choose the nut kicking because my wife has made it abundantly clear that I no longer need the use of my genitalia.

So I say "kick away Rosie O'Donnell....kick away"! May Todd live forever.

    Boy, you are nuts :roflmao:

    :D

  15. True and PVC set including Charlie Rose would make a nice Christmas set lol

All kidding aside, I can't wait for the TV show. I laugh thinking about the book so the show will probably end me but what a way to go lol

:signfunny: Charlie Rose PVC action figure = :roflmao:

Yeah, I really do hope "TODD the Animated Series" gets greenlit; I can see how awesome a show it could be on Adult Swim airing before or after The Boondocks!

"Innocence is thought charming because it offers delightful possibilities for exploitation."

    -Mason Cooley

I think you nailed it with the Cooley quote.

"Life is like a box of chocolates...it doesn't last as long for fat people"-this quote seems more apropos for the Todd thread.
