  1. Thank you for the kind remarks @Andahaion It's really encouraging to know that smart, focused collectors such as yourself are looking to join our hobby I actually find OA collecting to be more structured and transparent than the larger art market. There are multiple avenues to obtain regular, publicly-transacted sales data to inform purchases and current valuations. And as you mention, the "context" which must be considered in OA collecting provides additional metrics to apply when making purchasing or pricing decisions, according extra confidence. For me, when I wander into non-OA art circles, the lack of sufficient public sales data and/or metrics to assist in accurate valuation is sometimes scary! That's a powerful Morgan SS page, though I'm slightly surprised at how high the hammer price was. Strong Surfer pages do fetch a premium though (Ron Lim's my favourite of course). Good luck with the hunt, and do feel free to solicit opinions and feedback from us!
  2. Do give OA collecting a shot @NoMan! Don't be discouraged over this DD Miller/Janson issue as it's one of the most confusing topics in OA collecting. The rest of this hobby is much more straightforward; and always feel free to reach out with questions, as this is an incredibly helpful community

  8. I absolutely agree about the appeal and value of an artist style's "distinctiveness"

  12. Hmm it looks consistent with the other X-Force issues which Rob inked himself. I think that XF #7 page is Rob's actual inking style, which as you said, differs from Barta's inks on New Mutants and the fill-in jobs. For reference, Black Tom's and Warpath's faces in XF #4 & #6 respectively (see article below), appear to be inked in the same style as that #7 page. https://comicbookinvest.com/2017/03/24/artist-spotlight-rob-liefeld/

  15. Way overpriced - no Hulk and not Todd's distinctive style. As discussed here, the far superior Hulk cover to #343 sold for $23.8k one year ago (although McHulk OA prices have spiked since then): https://comicbookinvest.com/2017/05/19/artist-spotlight-todd-mcfarlane/
  16. Decent Spidey-action Ditko ASM panel pages start at $60k+ these days. Given the quality and significance of this single-digit issue ASM page, cracking $100k was always a given, and I think it may touch $150k!
