Some updates post christmas (and anniversary). Got a new desk and rug, moved some cabinets around, hung my ikea deathstar, rearranged the bookcases, got a few new books, Spider-Gwen statue, an OA thing page, rotated out some spinner books and my wife's house plant (since its still to cold to put it outside).

My personal themes are all over the place, artist, character, series, uncommon, basically what appeals to me also as a comic collector. I limit my price range to under $300 per item. (Although my wife's purchasing range is apparently higher as she paid $525 for a Gary Frank Hulk). I have tried to establish an assortment of types (cover, panel page, splash page, tilte splash, unpublished, and preliminary) as well as favorites (Gary Frank, Iron Fist, Star Wars and Star Trek, Godzilla, The Tick,) I have a list of wants and try to find the best example of want for price. Next on my list is an in costume Spider-man or DareDevil. Andrea Di Vito Thing recently purchased off Comic Art Fans page from Super Pals Art, by my wife as an anniversary present. A Ben Grimm FF Thing page has long been on my want list and this splash page checks a lot of boxes for me. From the Dan Scott series from 2006. Features the Maestro, Mr Fixit and Professor Hulk. Pencils only page. 2nd pic is the published page. If anyone could identify the other 2 versions of the hulk in the background, I would be grateful.

My wife and I have plans to fly to Charlotte for Heroes Con in June. Do they not have VIP tickets? What's the best hotel for this con? Where do the comic guests stay? Anybody on the board local to Charlotte? Whats a cant miss dinner while there?

I got this for Christmas an hung it in my room today, my wife detailed up the Ikea light to look like the Deathstar. Pics with/without the light on and intact/exploded views

My wife (my personal Santa) made me a tee shirt quilted throw blanket for Christmas. It turned out great. Some of my favorite tee shift from past years that she keep for this specific project.

I also was looking for the Venom 25 walmart 3 pack and after my 3rd attempt I was able to get one. To my surprise in the 3 pack was King Thor #1 2nd print. Anybody else find one or hear of King Thor being in the 3 packs or did I just get lucky?

My wife got me the Defenders #1 Iron Fist Dell'Otto sketch variant today. Displayed with Immortal Iron Fist 17 logo variant and a painting my brother did for me.

Reading thru the posts there are some beautiful runs and complete set, make me jealous. I have sold off and downsized a good deal of my collection over the years. I currently have complete runs of Rising stars including all known variants and Immortal Iron fist with all variants as well and numerous limited and mini series (but I dont know if they count in this instance)

I don't know if this is solely an investment question. I have wanted a Marvel Premiere 15 for many years and haven't had opportunity to get one in a grade I preferred. It is now currently outside my budget to buy it straight out. I also wouldn't want to be on the bad side of a trade (or sell/buy) which is why I asked about the long term investment

Is the cost of submission for these 2 books worth the price, taking into account the possibility of selling to essentially trade for MP15 and NYX3 ?

Also what do you think the total cost to slab these 2 comics would be (including a press for both)?

I own a raw copy of The Crow # 1 in what I believe is 9.2 to 9.4 condition and also own a Invincible #1 in 9.2 to 9.4 condition (maybe a 9.6 with a press). I would like to get them slabbed. I would like to get a Marvel Premiere 15 and NYX #3. My question is what do you believe is a better long term investment, grade and keep or grade and sell / trade. I got the Crow and Invincible years and years ago for less than $5 each, I dont think I am personally attached to them, although I dont think I would sell them out right without upgrading up on my want list. Thoughts??

Met Joe in 2014 at the Albany con, maybe the nicest comic creator I have had the pleasure of meeting, he drew my Stan Lee sketch. An also posted it to his own website. Rest in Peace Joe.
