  1. 3 original art pages this year and 1 key graded comic Amazing Spider-Man by Kev Walker and John Dell (off Ebay) Sam Alexander Nova by Ed McGuinness and Dexter Vines (From Dexter at HeroesCon) Benjamin J Grimm the Thing by Andrea DiVito (off CAF) And Raphael #1 CGc graded (from a dealer at Heroes con)
  2. Picked these up from eBay for my personal collection. Hawkeye completes the series (2012, Fraction/Aja) War of the Bounty Hunters negative space holiday variant for my Boba Fett display shelf.
  3. These are one shots (for each Ninja Turtle). Rapheal was released 1st and is oversized like the few few issues of TMNT. It is also the first appearance of Casey Jones. The stories are not interconnected, but i think most people would consider them a set. Mike, Don and Leo are relatively inexpensive and easy to find. 1st prints released in 1985-86
  4. I saw a youtube video to make the trailer but it didn't have a parts list, may look into that at a later date
  5. I was able to pick up the Raphael #1 at Heroes Con back in June, I now have the micro series set that can be displayed with my Funko fabrications
  6. Recently completed Optimus Prime Lego. Pretty awesome, a little awkward to "transform" but a great display for my room.
  7. Hotel and flight booked, I haven't been to Heroes Con previously and I am looking forward to it Great guest list, hope to get a couple convention sketches and some signatures on my ASM 700. Anyone know if any original art dealers (Anthony's, Splash Pages, Romitaman, etc) will be in attendance?
  8. I am not a die hard Lego guy, I have 4 (The Daily Bugle, Millennium Falcon, Slave 1 and the 1989 Bat-Plane) but the size and sheer awesomeness of this one is something else. I love they included the Spider-Buggy in this. My favorite mini fig in this set is probably FireStar (cause old school Spider-Man and his amazing friends Saturday morning cartoon).
  9. The light kit is set up to do in stages. Each level is wired up separately. Pretty easy to do, and looks great.
  10. While I got this for Christmas, I just finished the assembly and light kit install. 4 level, 25 mini figs and the taxi. Currently in my comic room (Nerdvana) on my desk.
  11. Like SonicDan, I picked up and opened the 4 packs I was mostly interested in the visible copy. There were no 2nd prints, no 1:any, only 1 cover B variant. It was mostly underwhelming. What I did get Hawkeye Kate Bishop 1 -with Daredevil 35 and X-Men Onslaught Revelation 1 both regular covers Star Wars Crimson Reign 1 -with Legends Black Panther 1 and New Mutants 22 both regular covers Amazing Spider-Man 79 -with Death of Dr Strange the Avengers 1 and(Star Wars) Boushh #1 regular (not the Walmart variant) Star Wars Life Day 1 -with New Mutants 22 variant cover and Star Wars Darth Vader 16 Again underwhelming and the thrill of the chase is gone (at least for me) from these Walmart packs unless I see others post some good finds. I have previously found some good finds, no 1:100 or ASM 55 but I did manage to get a King Thor 1 2nd print Gorr and Rogue One #2 1:25 variant. But also felt the previous packs had stronger showing issues (Strange Academy, Spider-Verse, Silk, Star Wars High Republic, Venom 25 etc)
  12. Updated some of the books in my spinner rack today. A few are double stacked. Many of these are popular small keys. Some of the ?why? books are either signed, I have original art from or hold a special place in my collection. 47 total books in a 40 slot spinner. I have had this spinner about 4 years. Secret Wars 3 was the first comic I bought and it was off a spinner rack at a 7-11
  13. I got Bill Anderson's autograph in 2014 at the Albany Comic Con. Which is a great one day con in upstate NY
  14. This is my work in progress, haven't been able to get any more signatures since March of 2019. I am planning on Heroes Con in Charlotte in June 2022. Some of the big names I have gotten are Mark Bagley, Joe Sinnott and Steve McNiven. I have several other personally signed comics including one of my personal favorites X-Faxtor 87 by Peter David and Joe Quesada
  15. Not new to OA collecting, but have a question none the less With the explosion of comic book prices over the last 18 months is there a correlation to original art? I do know that high end art has really taken off on auction sites but what about lower end OA (under $1000) Also is there a way to value your OA, to see price bumps or market corrections? Its relatively easy to evaluate individual comics with apps, websites and ebay but OA is a little more subjective Take for instance my Gary Frank Hulk 415 page, how would I find out the current value? (beside selling) Should we open a topic "please price my original art page?" My wife paid $500 for this 10 years ago, how would you evaluate rate of return on OA?
  16. I will counter Dr Doom (and what look like Sentinels but probably Doom-bots) with Mr Fantastic (the Fantasticar and the X-men)
  17. The wood came from Lowes its a pre-cut 24" tabletop. The lego has a built in mount (for hanging from a screw). I used a couple 1x4 to add some space between the background and the batwing.
  18. The follow up pics Assembled, light kit installed, and hung in my comic room.
  19. My top 10 displayed on the wall in my home office (see in post in "Got a comic room?") I may have to trade a couple out due to recent gains (Usagi Yojimbo and Young Avengers)
  20. I have had this Crow #1 since 2002. I just sent it in to gat pressed only, expect it back in 6-8 weeks. I am curious as to the current grade. I will post picks again when I get it back and ask again to see if it would be worth getting graded. You opinion would be appreciated as I am personally bias to this book.
  21. I just got the 1989 Batwing lego for my birthday last week, started on it last night. I plan on mounting it to the wall on a glow in the dark painted moon (wood plaque). I will update upon completion
  22. 8.0, possibly higher with a clean an press
  23. Before scrolling thru the other comments I thought 7.5 maybe 8.0 with a clean and press. But whatever the grade, it is a beautiful book.
  24. I picked up this Usagi Yojimbo 1 from a LCS back in Aug for $22, well beforethe spike it is currently seeing. I believe is has potential to grade out very high and I am considering it for submission. What do you think?
