  1. Also from the same comic book above is this panel which appeals to the Finbarr Saunders in me...F'narr f'narr
  2. This Fiction House book from 1951 has a historial account on which the story of the '300' was based.
  3. Use lighter fluid (Naptha). It won't discolor or attack paper or plastic. Squirt some on, then use a knife or razor blade to slide under the sticker, then wipe. I've even used it to remove old cellophane tape from comic covers. It usually, but not always works on those as well. Good to know, thanks
  4. That's a great way to get to read those fabulous stories. What do the various coloured stickers mean? Oh, nothing. I used to put stickers on my Mylars when I collected Silver age to denote various levels of grade. All my Silver Age collection has gone now but I still have the Mylars which will fit in most GA books. The stickers won't come off clean.
  5. That's a good way to get your feet wet in the PCH arena, Grantley! BTW, There's a guy on eBay who sells "Photocopy" books in the GA Horror/SciFi category. I've gotten several reproduction covers, complete with inside graphics from him, relatively cheap. Just a thought if you want covers for any of those. I know about that guy too, but many thanks for the info.
  6. Fun read on that coverless - FYI, that's the wrong back cover for the book (from an earlier time period). Y'know I noticed that myself but then got distracted by something and forgot about it. It's not that big a deal because I bought the book as coverless and complete and didn't expect there to be a back cover on it, pity it's the wrong one but at least the innards are genuine
  7. I've decided to branch out into collecting certain coverless issues, as long as they are complete (sans cover of course), and in fairly good nick otherwise. All these arrived yesterday from various sources
  8. Speaking of ratty.... My first coverless book is a Planet Never know when I'm gonna be able to get a nice # 30 on my budget. This book has no front cover. It has a back cover which is pretty horrible, but the guts of the book are complete, with nothing missing or loose and perfectly enjoyable and readable. It may be a humble offering but I love it. It will do for now.
  9. very true. My book show the same interior tanning. Great book. I've always thought this cover is genuinely disturbing
  10. I'd love to own a copy of this. What a lovely book, it would look so good in a Mylar, and some great stories inside as well. What a cover!!
  11. Thanks. I haven't read this one yet but am looking forward to the un-politically correct titled story, 'How to beat a Jap'.
  12. This is my one comic book so far that fits the bill, from 1936.
