I'm not in a good mood. I'll lay that out right now.
Arguing about whether speculating, hoarding, or variants kill the hobby or what the hell ever you may think, is fine. Great. Have your opinion, but don't cram it down someone's throat. I collect because I like the art. Some collect for investment and some for other reasons. Yes, if you don't get one of the phantom variants, it sucks. It's a nice cover. I want one. But I'm not going to person_without_enough_empathy at everyone else because I can't get one. Also, if someone wants to buy 50 books. Who the cares? Do you really have that much spare time that you can post about something that really doesn't affect you? I was really enjoying this thread until it turned from a discussion to an argument to this. No one's talking about the story, or the art, or what's next. Everyone's just arguing about who's right and who's wrong.
And if someone buys the whole damn print run, it's not like the publisher says "oh mess, well too bad we can't print any more to make even more money."
Thanks for the insight some of you have provided. I'm looking forward to where the story goes and the art is really good.

I'm wondering if the treasurey edition is worth getting. Will it gain value in the long term if the series takes off?
Sucks it can't be slabbed.

I just found out this thread existed.
we count posts?!?!
OMG!
now that I look at my few hundred posts, it is a subtle reminder of how many minutes a day i spend talking to people whom i will probably never meet, and how much of a life i dont have.
Thanks CGC. Wouldn't want to forget that one!

They've been trying to get another spawn movie in the works, but who knows when/if that'll happen. I've oly got 1 copy and last time i looked they were in the $20 range raw.
who knows.

, good luck on the refund or credit. They have the market by the balls. You don't like it? That's too bad. Our competitors are sketchy so feel free to use their services.
I guess it's a good sign the markets going strong for grading anyway.
I called on Monday and they told me my order was received on March 22. It was a SS sub. They said current turn around is 2 months minimum. My books are just sitting in their vault.
At least it'll be a nice birthday present when they all come back in October.
The bright side of life.

Well that's what I figured. I have the trades, but I think I may stick with the single issues until I see where this goes.

Does anyone think that #127 is going to retain any value? I've got 7 of them and I've never really done the "speculator" thing before....
-
So, does anyone think #127 will go up in value? I went to Kitchener yesterday and the shop there had like 30 on the shelf. I ordered 6 because I was told it would be a key issue with low print....
Soooo... thoughts?
-
I own a digital copy on Google Play. Does that count...? It's at least a 9.8 (no bindery tear).
SWEET!!! U gonna get it signed and pressed? Maybe get a 9.9!
-
Ok, already 21. Can't be that many more. We're close to an a curate count here guys.
-
Who out there can get a print run count on #127?
Or where can I find it? Comicchron?
Outside of someone with inside knowledge close to the book, we won't know until the sales numbers are made available and Comichron posts them next month.
Well... I have 6 copies... Sooo... There's at least 6.

hey guys I decided to make this thread because of the previous posts I made with consignments wanted, x-men 1 for sale and so on so I will take the best advice that someone gave me on this forum. I will prove myself to be trustworthy by making transactions with people and also since people don't really know who I am or anything about me so I decided that you can ask me anything to get to know me better!
Nothing says trustworthy like starting a thread on an internet board chat room asking people to ask you random pointless questions about your life to gain acceptance.
What a great idea.
I think it's a good idea people will at least get to know me better!
Just as it is a good idea to get to know people from Nigeria with those lottery tickets off the internet right?
no it wouldn't be good to know Nigerian people because they are scammers, I however am not but because I have nothing to back it up I'll earn my trust here!
And the award for the most racist comment of the thread is......

Hey, I've been on here for <1 yr and I wouldn't dream of knowing enough about every age of books, current market value, or demand to just post a thread and starts selling books.
I think you have a lot to consider before jumping in head first.
There is a lot of knowledge to gain on the boards if you take your time and talk to people.
There are also a lot of people here who do what you want to do. Talk to them.
Just some advice from another noob.

I don't know what my point is....
That you're not longer 8 years old, and your mind is demanding entertainment befitting an adult.
That's the nicest compliment I've had all week!
You sir, get a cookie.

So, even my 8yr old son was confused about Rhino. I think it was very poorly executed. GG was ok, but electro could have been so much more than he was.
The end of it was good (minus the Rhino) but I still think ASM is targeted to kids which is why I didn't enjoy it as much.
Winter soldier was more adult focused and even my GF really liked it.
I don't know what my point is....

JSC Wolverine #1 Deadpool costume variant. This one really has spiked recently, with a 9.8 going for $1,800, 9.6 for $1,200, and raw copies going for $850+. I know there's only about 400 of these out there, but it's hard to tell if the demand is related to JSC love, the "#1" on the cover, the Wolverine/Deadpool mash up, or all three? Either way, seems to be the hottest back issue variant out there right now, and proof that the "right" variant can catch lightning in a bottle and hold its value and/or continue to appreciate.

That book WAS on my "to buy" list... i'm gonna have to move it to my "never gonna have it" list...
Wow!
Is the print run only in the 400s?

I've given up keeping track of time on these books. once they have it, i'm stuck waiting regardless of how frustrating it is. My theory is, no competition on the market, no need to try harder. And no, i'm not counting PGX or that crazy Vault Grading.

This would go so much quicker if they just graded my stuff 10. and sent it back to me. geeze!
Seriously though, for the amount of money they bring in, they should be able to keep up with demand. They can hire me as a grader.... Then all my stuff would come back 10. and everything would move faster...

Gunnz, are you a Newfie, by chance? Just asking.
Nope!
But some of my fondest memories are getting smashed at pubs with a group of Newfies I met in PEI. From what I remember, It was a pretty awesome trip! Also, I play pool WAY better drunk.
Why do you ask good sir?
Enormous ! How big will it get ?

Well I was watching 2 sales for the enormous treasury one shot on ebay. sellers had 4 each for $21 + $15 shipping. I went to bed to think about it. Just checked again. All gone. So much for sleeping on it.
