Apologies. Didn't mean to hit submit. Got a little excited, I guess.

Dell 744, Gilbert, Michael, Death Has Deep Roots, FN- 5.5. A very pretty copy with general wear and a slight spine lean. Nice and bright with full gloss. One of my favorite covers of the period. Read someplace that this cover is by E. Harper Johnson (new to me), but it's another “fridge magnet” for sure.

Midwood F215, Harris, Amy, Counter Girl. VG/FN 5.0 (Unread). Solid copy with age discoloration but otherwise very presentable. Another “refrigerator magnet” cover that is highly sought after with an iconic cover illustration by Robert Maguire. Scarce in any condition, I searched for a long time before I found a copy. $120

Yeah, that kind of surprised me as well. I'm reminded of that time when I was obsessed with Maguire and declared that books with his covers were the absolute best. You replied "Except for Bergeys and Belarskis." And you were right.
It's yours, sir.

For clarity's sake, let's plan on more books tomorrow morning at 11:00 CST. I'll clean up the purchases and what's left in the meantime.

Nice grab. You don't often see those digests in that condition and Quarter books can be very tough.

And that's all I have ready for tonight. I have to work on something for a client tomorrow afternoon, so I'm going to try and wrap up the rest of the books for this thread in the morning. I'll give a one hour warning before I start back up.
Thanks for all that have been looking and those that purchased!

Quarter Books 80, Stonebraker, Florence, Frisco Dame, VF+ 8.5. Just a super nice copy of an uncommon digest from the early 50s. Glossy and fresh looking. Not 100% sure who did the cover art but it has a certain Howell Dodd feel to it (Edit: Confirmed it is Howell Dodd). Tough book in high grade.

Midwood 124, Richards, Rick, Motel Hostess. FN 6.0 (Unread). A really nice, bright copy with excellent colors and gloss but it has an odd stiffness to it that seems like maybe it was exposed to humidity or something (not really visible in scan). Probably the sort of thing that could be pressed out. Beautiful cover illustration by Robert Maguire.
