  1. This first issue of Fantastic with a cover by Barye Phillips is one of the most under appreciated books, IMO.
  2. Hey! This is great to hear, pal! Can't wait to see it when it comes out!!
  3. All are welcome, my friend. Except for the smut that @Surfing Alien drops in the thread sometimes. Those books are completely unacceptable. However, books focusing on nurses are much appreciated. Encouraged even.
  4. A lot of Australian comics used Spanish artists or reused previously published art by Spaniards. This looks like the painting style for the highly accomplished Esteban Maroto. https://ausreprints.net/issue/52845/0
  5. Nice find! The page I looked at showed sold out but that must have been the first printing.
  6. I think Greg @ Dreamhaven books had it in stock before (2nd printing). Incorrect. I just spoke with him and he's sold out. I also did a broad web search and I'm coming up with no available copies! Here's a link to Stuart Ng who often gets these issues in: https://stuartngbooks.com/?subcats=Y&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&match=all&search_performed=Y&status=A&q=illustrators+magazine&dispatch=products.search
  7. Very nice, Dave! Somewhere, I have the cover proof for 41 but haven't seen it in a few years. I'm sure it'll show up if I ever reorganize the vault.
  8. I sense another epic @Stevemmg sales thread may be coming in the not-too-distant future to offset that bad boy! It's been awhile since the last one...
  9. That's an amazing piece and a long term hold. Early Sanjulian is my favorite Sanjulian. Nice work, pal!
  10. Yeah, I was tracking those but got sucked into work and missed the end. That 24 was a steal. The 25 seemed about right for an 8.0 and the 23, well... "Prices vary widely on this book".
  11. If memory serves, this book has Matt Baker art inside, if anyone is interested. I'm sure @rjpb can confirm. A lot of great mags and good values in this thread!
  12. So you cracked that baby out? Nice work, sir! Welcome to a very small club of magazine crackers that have taken down 9.6s. That's rare air and a 9.6 is impressive. I've had a really good feeling about you since you joined the fold. Now, it feels like that was justified because, right now, my heart is swelling with pride and admiration. Anyway, bravo, sir! Take a bow.
  13. I agree. The community that has formed here over the last many years is my favorite on the boards.
  14. That's very kind of you guys but the magazines came from @Stevemmg, who's always a fountain of quality material. I did what any board member would do for another. Nothing that special, I'm just glad it worked out.
  15. I used to have an 9.0ish of this that had a double cover many years ago. Wish I still had it.
  16. Here's a better picture of the cover. I did a cursory search but don't see any copies available at the moment. Although, they do seem to show up on eBay on occasion. I'd set up a saved search and watch for alerts (you've probably already done so, just saying).
  17. Seriously, that's not amateur coloring. Whoever did it had some skills and applied them. I say it's more desirable with that kind of quality work.
  18. Your copy is nicer than mine, just gorgeous. By far, my favorite Toth cover.
  19. That's awesome, seems entirely possible, doesn't it. I've owned a few copies of this book and at least one of the others had a stamp similar to the one I currently own. Yours is a pretty looking copy.
  20. LOL! Great minds think alike, at the same time, apparently. That's a very pretty book!
  21. Surprised this book hasn't shown up as the best LB Cole cover. I've always considered it to be the peak of his work. For me, it's Cole's Cinderella Love 25 (which is also conspicuously absent). And this is Marc Swayze's masterpiece to me: And I think this is Hal Foster on the cover, in which case, this is his best "comic book" cover, IMO
