That big stack of copies of Captain America #49 (Aug. '45) looks recently added to store inventory (street date June 15th)...
So my crystal ball is telling me that this photo was probably taken in mid to late June of '45.
PS: There's a stack of unsold Marvel Mystery #65 7/45 (street date May 9th) on the lower shelf, probably to be returned!
At least a copy ended up with me...
Those copies are mint. I guess you like to read a lot

I am first and foremost a Timely collector, so Verzyl's collection was always the most intriguing to me. But Jon's collection was so deep in so many areas right up to and through the silver age. And he was always willing to show and share his books. That is now the way I would like my collection to be.
Well @MrBedrockstart sending them to me you

My condolences to his family. I never met him but read a lot about him and was shocked that a long-time collector like me was selling his books. I guess it made me think when it was time for me to sell and have money before I go. God bless Jon Berk.
I just found this hope its ok to post if not let me know.

Well, looks like not quite bald yet, unless this is an old photo:
Sean Linkenback is an attorney and author known for writing the Unauthorized Guide to Godzilla Collectibles, the first comprehensive guide on the subject in the English language. Before that he was an adviser to Warren's Movie Poster Price Guide, the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, as well as being an adviser on the first Sotheby's comic book auction, and a frequent writer about comics including the feature "CBM Presents Sleepers" in Comic Book Marketplace. Currently he works as an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia as well as being an infrequent columnist for the magazine Movie Collector's World.
In 2014, Linkenback released The Art of Japanese Monsters, a comprehensive guide to worldwide movie poster artwork from Japanese science fiction and horror (kaiju) films of the past 60 years. It especially focused on the Godzilla and Gamera series of films produced by Toho Films and Daiei Film respectively. This book is available as both a regular hardbound edition and a limited leatherbound edition of 100 copies that was signed by Godzilla series star Akira Takarada and suit actor Haruo Nakajima.[1]
Ya he's not the cool guy he was in the 90s with all those cool books and ya that's bald.

We’ve seen a number of comics posted here from tv, movies and old newsstand photos. The Naked City episode that had newsstand copies of Amazing Fantasy #15 and Journey into Mystery #83 just hanging up there to me was the most impressive artifact of old key comics I had seen.
I think after watching this podcast with this photo I have a tie with the above. Never, ever thought I would see a Tec #27 in multiples hanging out on a newsstand. Super impressive photo.
There is a Marvel 1 in this picture.
We got this

Oh..............don't we yearn for the days of yore when we had a full set of red hair and we could pick up those beauties for what was probably back then perceived to be "crazy" prices.
Seriously though, absolutely loved your Sleepers column in the early issues of the Gary Carter edited CBM magazine before it all went to carp.
Ya Luther hair all gone think he is bald now

Oh sure, now you show up
That bottom pic was from the first time I had ever set up at San Diego - I was 23 and wanted to make a good impression with all the West Coast collectors. Hope it worked.

I've never understood the un-love for Funnies on Parade. It's the first comic book, what more does it need to do to get people interested? As you said, it's pretty darn hard to come by and almost never surfaces for sale. The one copy I ever had for sale (way back in the prehistoric 90s), got lots of oohs and aahs, but took forever to find a buyer - even though it was unrestored and priced below $1,000.
It looks like Overstreet has stopped even trying to give it an obligatory $100 yearly bump or anything, as the VF price in the guide last year is the same as it was a decade ago.
I take it for $900
