  1. I guess we all like artists for different reasons, but I love Maneely’s patterning on textiles. This is one of his I want to grab some day.
  2. I give it to Stevens for showing at least a few different body types: small chest, big chest, muscle bound. We now see pinups and fashion models of all sizes and shapes but that certainly wasn't the norm then.
  3. I remember writing a letter to the editor when I was 10 or 11. My mother insisted on reading it first. I recall having written either "Excelsior!" or "Make mine Marvel" at the bottom of the letter. I felt so intruded upon, like someone had read a diary entry.
  4. Sgt. Rock in his own animated short? https://www.newsarama.com/45078-new-dc-showcase-animated-shorts-to-feature-sgt-rock-adam-strange-death-more.html
  5. Our household income tracks with the academic calendar. So my comic purchasing is drying up unless you have a five month payment plan for relatively low dollar books.
  6. NAVY ACTION 1 - was $45 shipped, now $30 SPORTS THRILLS - was $100 shipped, now $80 COLE - was $45 shipped, now $35 YOUNG KING COLE - was $40 shipped, now $30
  7. The comicsgate people have shown up, have they?
  8. So dark and broody. Not as cool as the Wrightson cover for this issue, but still, a nice composition for a dark and dreary night.
  9. I sure did love his FF and X-Men when I was a kid.
  10. This one counts, right? Right? I mean, it's got Cole in the title. Young King Cole vol. 2, #7, 6.0, Crippen D, NOW $30 shipped Certificate included I bought this as a 7.0 from the Ritters. The front is nice as you can see, but the back is not so nice. I think there grades are, how would you say, aspirational at times. So I've downgraded this and knocked the price down a good bit from what I paid.
  11. Cole #10, 4.5, NOW $35 shipped Here, I dig the horizontal lines, some moving left and some moving right. It's not a washtone, as I guess that technique didn't exist yet, but it's got a cool washtone-like look to it. Whites are scanned a bit too high on the back cover; I wish it were that bright! 4
  12. Sports Thrills #14, F/VF, NOW $80 shipped Nice colors as you can see. As usual, really nice composition. Look at the angled lines all running in parallel. And I like how he did the audience in the stands.
