Greetings, fellow comic fans. I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that I'm returning to the hobby after a long hiatus. I knew I'd regret selling those comics, and I own that regret with pride! My collecting interests have changed dramatically. While I had a near complete X-Men run in the past, I have no interest in them now. Dr. Strange, Warlock, and Nick Fury are driving my interest for now, and I'm enjoying reconnecting with books of yore. I'll admit that I love Adventure Time and have been grabbing up those comics, too. Wonderful stuff there and some beautiful covers. Anyhow, this board has already been a treasure trove of information, and I'm enjoying interacting with board members and eating popcorn while watching the antics. Cheers, David

I've tried with my 8300, with lid up but not room dark. I'll dry darkened room to see if that makes a difference. Lid up has not reduced glare for me.

Seems like this would be a good candidate for a sticky. 50k views is slight compared to some other threads in this forum, but it's still significant.

Got my 8300 today. Like someone else in the thread, I ended up going through Fireworks to acquire the photo, and it's working great. MUCH better than my consumer-grade scanner, which was essentially worthless for this. I got this on ebay for $65 (USD) shipping included. Feel like I got a steal!
