So cgc wants to reimburse me what I paid for my asm 129 in 2019, they flat out lied about making people whole again, I’d rather have my book returned it is worth more then what they want to pay for it. This is absurd

:butbutbutemoji: I thought they said this

    Just to be clear...

Let's say you spent $10,000 on a 9.8 comic. It turns out that it's on the list, so you send it in to be evaluated. CGC decides that it indeed has been switched/tampered and it is actually a 9.4. CGC will keep the book and compensate the owner of the book the FMV of a 9.4?

The FAQ page has been edited to answer this question.

What happens when I submit a book for Holder Review?

If your book is determined to be correctly graded, it will be reholdered with a new certification number and returned to you at no charge. If your book is determined to be incorrectly graded, CGC will retain your book as evidence, and you will be compensated for the current fair market value of an accurately graded book at the original incorrect (higher) grade. Fair market value is calculated in accordance with the CGC Guarantee.

Mostly my question is what to do about books that range from $40-$100 when slabbed but might sell for $10 raw.  It might be that there are more people looking for raw books they can read than non-key slabs.

Lets think about this : first you have to ship the books to CGC then pay for grading then pay to have them shipped back

Ship to CGC depending on how many books $ 15.00 to ?

Cost to grade modern $ 25.00 ea  vintage pre 1975  $ 40.00 each

Ship back depending on how many slabs  say $ 30 to ?

If that was 1 book that has a value of $ 100.00 after grading you make $ 30.00 on 1 modern book is it worth it ? The high dollar books yes the $ 100 books I say no sell them raw. mpo

Also remember if you use PAY PAL after $ 600.00 in sales you will get a 1099A so you may have to pay taxes.

May I ask a question in a sales thread? Why/who wrote the camp name Okajima ?

    This may answer your question

    https://www.goodgirlcomics.com/okajima/

    and this will help

    Okajima

Admired for its unique backstory, the Okajima collection was assembled by a young Japanese-American girl from California who was interned by the U.S. government during World War II. She managed to save her comic books through that period, and continued collecting until the mid'50s. The collection was ultimately sold in 1995, broken into three groups during an estate sale, but because of their unique markings on the front and back covers many copies have been identified since their initial disbursement. The collection is known for having very high page quality and containing a large number of jungle and good-girl comics.

  4. If I'm going to send to CGC a polybagged comic do I remove it or does CGC ? Do I need to put a note or something with it telling them it's ok to remove the bag? (shrug)

  5. If I send in a book that was from was from a artists estate will it be noted on the label ? Should I send in a copy of COA from his wife? I don't see any of these on the census Herb gave these away at cons.

Bro what!?!? CSG 9's of this card are going consistently between $16-20 on ebay so why are you asking $150? Source - https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=2020-21+donruss+lamelo+ball+csg+9+-optic&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1

I"ll give you $30 for the pair if you'll do PayPal F&F.

This is rule # 9 List acceptable forms of payment (NOTE: PayPal "goods and services" is an acceptable payment method to list, but Personal PayPal, AKA "friends and family," is NOT allowed as a listed payment option as it is not appropriate for item purchases. It is also against the rules to ask for Personal PayPal via private message).

I am new to collecting graded comics, I only have a few as of right now. It seems one of the books was graded much earlier than the others. I can see the differences in the size and quality of the slabs. Can someone drop a link to point me in the right direction to send the older graded comic in the get a new slab?

Also when sending a comic in to get a new slab, do they re-grade the comic? What are the chances the grade will drop/be the same?

    Thanks everyone!

Yes they are supposed to check the book out when they re slab grade could drop , stay the same

    You may try asking here

Joey is correct (and knows what he's talking about).

But there are plenty of people who press/clean every book they send in.  Just in case they miss something, I guess.

Fingerprints are something you may miss.

Your getting finger prints on the books even if YOU don't touch them :baiting:

Ouch DougC.  Yes, that's exactly the nightmare scenario I'm trying to avoid!  I have indeed posted the same question in the "Ask CGC" section, but it's still "pending approval."  We'll see what they say.  And I like your idea of printing it out and sending it in, that way, so long as I follow their advise, then I feel like I've got a good argument against anyone there trying to hit me with the purple label.  Thanks for the input.

make sure to keep copies of what you send them take plenty of pictures or scans of the page/pages also
