I am sorry to hear this for you and especially his family. I had to go through this at the young age of thirteen. My childhood best friend was killed when his mom took him on a trip out of town and was hit head on by a drunk driver in an 18 wheeler. We were both in Scouts together and when we buried him myself and my troop all dressed in our uniforms carried the casket to his resting place. His death did do some good, because if I ever drink I always have a designated driver if I need to travel. My condolences. RIP - Mark Pedneau I am still thinking of buddy. your pal, Wally

yeah, this is my first experience with an eBay flop. I got one of his NM books where the overspray/ink damage was so bad in it made the story incomplete an basically unreadable. It's kind of funny but I had a barber that my old man took me to as a kid that reminds me of his services. This barber (a.k.a. "the Butcher") would give you the worst haircut you ever had in your life and try to make up for it to the child victim by putting a piece of double bubble gum behind your ear. Anyway - Sorry, but I as well as others got burned by the dude... BUT, if you reaaaallly want something to crow about but books here on the CGC boards. I wanted to tank Dover again for a sweet set of Weird War, Ghosts and other DC Bronze Horror! A nice deal and great pack up job!

Kudos to Dover on the Ultra Sweet Magazines! They were under graded in my book and the packaging was "bomb proof"!

At least I bought "the mac-daddy" a few years ago when the prices didn't blow through the roof. (AF15 in 6.5) I paid $10k in a certified check, (I think that same book now would cost almost triple that!)

yeah, well I got 9 left and I am currently saving for the big boys... It's a bummer a scraping and a saving (but it sure beats debt up to yer eyeballs) I have ASM 1 (in 6.0-6.5), 3, 4, 5 (in 7.0), 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 (in 8.0) until I get the whole set. In other words I have about 15k worth of collecting to go... Maybe someday I'll finish this ASM collection.

For those that are just thinking about it, put it this way, if you are a collector you should have children just to have someone to give all this craap to when you pass on.

Carol and I waited for awhile... But I have to agree there's nothing like like it. It's hard to explain, but once you see your kid come into this world everything else takes a back seat to them. I had a very, very hard upbringing and I felt that it was my duty put as much as I could into parenting and raise a child in a solid home without alcoholism, violence, and abuse. Many times I wished I had a Dad that wasn't an S.O.B. and now I am going way beyond to the best Dad ever. Everyday is a new challenge and I look forward to it.
