kav got a reaction from Off Panel in I am NOT convinced.
One time I went to 3D movie and one of the lenses popped out so I had to watch the whole movie in 1 1/2 D

kav got a reaction from littledoom in Should Con dealers beat/match online prices?
I have never bought a wall book at an LCS. Usually I just shake my head and get it on ebay for about 1/3 the price.

I think 50/50 is a high estimate. i have rarely been disappointed in my ebay purchase. And you can get a refund no problem.

Ebay sales come with a guarantee. No way i would buy a book from a dealer at the same price I could get it on ebay.

kav got a reaction from Gator Guru in Oh Man I Sure Hope the Comics Market Never Crashes as Bad as the Stamps Market
I dont think it will happen. Comic collecting is inherently different from stamp collecting. people had to 'get into' stamp collecting, whereas people actually bought comics because they wanted them. No one went to the corner store with excitement to buy the new stamps and read them like they did with comics. there's not really the nostalgia element. even people who started collecting in the 80s still learn to desire comics that have no nostalgic value, eg golden age books. once you collect comics, your desire for more valuable comics widens.

The OP's stamps might not be worth much but NFTs of them could be worth a ton!

"I dont care about credit for spider man or anything else back then I was work for hire"
"Here's my 100 page treatise on me not getting credit for spider man and anything else back then-"

Compare the writing of typical Kirby solo book with any FF Lee story. If anyone thinks the writing is equally good I cant help them.

Stan wrote the dialogue. STAN WROTE THE DIALOGUE. Thats what made the books so great-along with the art. Not one of those creators ever said THEY WROTE THE DIALOGUE. Should they have been given plotting credit? Sure. But Stan was the WRITER.
THE END

What brought all these characters to life was not the initial idea or the art, but the words they spoke. And that was pure Stan Lee.

kav got a reaction from RobHW in Most ridiculous comic panels of all time?
Flip-flopping over the rooftops, Nomad ne' Captain America symbolizes Everyman-a disjointed confused yet happy-go-lucky individual, a simple country boy-you might say a cockeyed optimist, who got himself mixed up in the high stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue.
