Popular Post David P Hartman
The one I worked on the longest was the Tarzan Dell/Gold Key/DC series. There are/were 2 Four Color issues before starting it's 258 plus 11 annuals run. Charlton managed 4 issues before having to cease and desist. All before Marvel gave it a go in 1977. I had bought them off the stands as a kid, during their Gold Key years, picking up the occasional older ones when they would turn up. And number 8 turned out to be the last one needed. The real challenge is the full page Tarzan Sunday strips! Those started Mar. 15th, 1931. I'm missing 4-17, 5-1, & 5-15 from 1932. A bunch from 1933! 3-11 & 4-15 from 1934. 3-10 from 1935. 3-22 from 1936. I need a lot of the end of the year strips in 1937. But have 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, complete! I pick up the Tip Top & Sparklers with Tarzan covers, when I see them. And there's still some early March of Comics to find. There are just over 20 Tarzan Big Little Books, not counting premiums. And my copy of Tarzan Escapes did! I'll replace that one, and eventually find the premiums! I do need the Large Feature Comic 5, and the Single Series 20 (Hal Foster) books still! And, with any luck those and All Story Oct. 1912 will show up some day. BlowUpTheMoon, waaaghboss, mec3437 and 2 others
Popular Post oakman29
I have completed Amazing Spider-Man from AF 15-ASM 1-700 Silver Surfer 1-18 Vampirella 1-113 Vampirella 1-4 U.K. Creepy 1-146 ( only need 6 books to finish)Completed Ultimate Spiderman The Crow 1-4 And as soon as I end the Creepy run with the last 6 books. I will be working on the Eerie run. I already have quite a head start too! I wont bother you with the modern runs completed. The ASM run was the most satisfying , it took nearly thirty years to complete. The Warren horror runs however have been the most fun to collect. The art and stories just hit the spot for me. Edited September 18, 2018 by oakman29 Creepy run completed Sandflea, SAKI, Larryw7 and 8 others 10

1950's war comics
When i got back into comics five years or so ago i concentrated on Atlas war comics and some other war runs.. Battlefield, Battlefront, War Action, War Adventures War Comics, War Fury Etc ... the largest run was only 70 issues so not too hard..... (too bad i did not go the complete opposite way of war and collected Love comics instead like Bakers and i would have been much farther ahead financially and Baker romance is awesome!) tv horror and FoggyNelson 1

fishbone
This might sound stupid, because I did collect a couple dozen FF's in my youth, but I've just noticed what incredible covers the 1-100 run has I'm seriously thinking of completing that run.... tv horror

You "youngsters" have it easy with eBay and the many other auction sites tv horror, serling1978, Readcomix and 3 others

Popular Post Artboy99
Planet Comics. Perhaps the run I am most proud of and that was arguably the hardest to complete. It took me several years. I utilized many online resources, and bought from CGC board members and bought at local comic shows and conventions. I sacrificed other books to be able to afford the books that eluded me ( Planet 15! ) There are not many members of the complete Planet Comics run club worldwide. I was trying to stick to 5.0 and above for copies. Other than a handful I attained that goal ( always room to upgrade which I am slowly doing ). I completed lots of runs over my years collecting comics: Spider-man including AF15, Hulk including Tales to Astonish and all of his appearances, Conan both Marvel and Dark Horse, Savage Sword of Conan. Silver Surfer 1-18, etc, but I think the Planet run is the hardest run I have completed. Edited February 6, 2018 by Artboy99 fishbone, Terry E. I agree with you 100% that's what's ruining the hobby for me, I nearly have a full set of Werewolf by night except 32, three short of a full run on Amazing Spider-man AF15 1, 2 and no hope of ever finishing these two runs. I'm not a fussy collector as I would gladly except a 2.0 as I love them raw. 1950's war comics
