  1. I just assumed lying, cheating and stealing, or any one of them in and of itself is shameful.
  2. In my (short) time here I've found there to be a big range of opinions on what the standard is for HOS. You would have to make an argument. . I'm too lazy to come up with any type of cogent argument that trumps the obvious.
  3. That's why I asked if he billed for the full hour There's a firm here that used to bill in 15s. Guys timesheets would look like this: .25 - Email read and responded to .25 - Voicemail listened to .25 - Discuss ... .25 - Email sent four different clients, 10 minutes of work, 1 billable hour.
  4. Wadub, guns blazing rarely works out for the gunslinger on here. Just some unsolicited advice.
  5. Got a nice Hawkman 4 from Paul. Great to deal with and would do so again for sure.
  6. You'll drown trying to find rational behavior in a sea of exuberance.
  7. Not to get all lawyer-like, and this has nothing to do w/Roy because again, he disclosed more than necessary, making a factually true statement is not always black and white. Plenty of guys have been hit w/10b-5 charges for doing that very same thing. And no, it has no applicability to selling comic books. Just an example to make a point.
  8. Roy, you provided plenty of information. It is not your responsibility to scour past sales, it's the buyer's prerogative. It's only when someone selects a single data point and passes that off as gospel, that I have an issue. Even then, I do my own research, but it makes me shake my head when I see the serial, carnival barking, selective GPA offenders hawk their wares.
  9. Correct. We also would have accepted: Pre-Unity Valiant or Earth 1 (Pre-Crisis)
  10. Thanks I am a honest person and I'm trying to change my financial situation. So does that mean you want this journal to be about me getting the comics and seeing what they graded? so will you guys be able to know if I'm getting closer to my goal by what I post here? It has nothing to do with what WE want. It's your journal. Just consider exercising judgment and you'll be fine.
  11. I opened a PP claim/dispute and a refund is in process (10 business days?) Provided I get the refund on 12/12, I won't have PL nomination for him. Refund received. No further beef w/Venom.

  13. Exactly this. There is only 1 sale in all of 2014 (excluding his) for a book in similar grade...which is guess what the 3.5. He posted a link to it and said here is a similar book have at it. He didn't strong arm anyone to purchase the book at his price, nor did he "manipulate sales". This is no different than saying hey I saw a NM 98 cgc 9.8 sell for 1k the other day on ebay here is the link. Mine is only 950 shipped. I think you are missing the general concern. It's not actually the price at all. It's the fact that the book was a highlight in a well advertised auction from a notable auctioneer. Only hours later does it appear for sale here on the boards and who knows where else. Is it against the board rules to ask questions before sending someone 19k? For all we know the scans could have simply been ripped and it's obvious to some of us that can clearly see what exactly is going down. The seller is playing it without letting on that the book remains CC and quite frankly these details just need to be brought to light IMO. Again the price is not a big a deal as the play for the sale. "Playing on air" comes to mind in the world of playing pool. You "play on air" and lose, depending on what kind of bar you are at, it could mean an asskicking. Regardless of the hobby or business endeavor - selling, wagering or representing something you don't have is not an acceptable practice that people are usually 'ok' with. Except on Wall St. (where margin buying is a mainstay)
  14. Regular ol Windex is what I use. Just use a soft, lint-free cloth and spray onto the cloth (rather than onto the glass)
  15. Dinesh is a great buyer, great guy and an excellent addition to these boards. Do not hesitate to transact with him.
