  1. While I'm not the biggest fan of FM's recent work I do appreciate his style.

I almost think he has the keenest eye when it comes to contrasting the stark black and white brush and ink image and while the characters maybe "grotesque" stylistically his ability to make the black and white image pop is like no other.

Totally agree! Here is a perfect example of the black and white ... I would like to think at least..

That was a great buy! Zorro may not be a key Miller character, but it's a perfect example of his art from that period.

Thanks man! Not his key character but I like the fact he did a whole bunch of Zorro references in DKR.. I think Miller in a way has always had love for Zorro.. But I don't think any good opportunities were presented during this time in his career except this cover. I also don't think Miller did any indie work during this time either which means he must have gone out of his way to do the piece.

  3. Can anyone describe their dealings with Coolines Artwork?

You can PM me if you'd rather (thumbs u

New to art collecting and I contacted Steve for prices on a few pieces.

I found his prices to be very high. Even one case he sent me a price of a page 1k higher then what he had posted on ebay.

I asked if he would haggle but he was also firm on all his prices.

Mike Burkey, Albert and Bechara have been good to me..

  5. Also, a 4.5 sold for 86k on CC IIRC.

So for the 6.0, I would say no problem.

and I just sold my 5.0 for far north of that, so the 6.0 should be juicier

    Was yours on Greg's website?

Anyways, that 5.0 is sold as well.. Big sale!

    yes.

    Nice! Congrats bro :headbang:

  6. Since I am a owner of a tec 29 my opinion might be considered a little biased but I think that the tec 29 is and should be at least if not more valuable then a tec 31.

    Few reasons why:

29 copies on the reg vs 44 for the tec 31

2nd cover of batman vs 3rd cover

Both covers are iconic(I think 29 is better and I know lots of others do as well)

If I see incomplete tec 31s go for 25k I would think a complete 29 should go for if not more but at least the same value.

Tec 29 1.0 sold back in March of 2011 for 9800.. We saying it didn't grow for 4 years?

Maybe the book doesn't move enough for it to really get its full value.

    just my 2 cents..

    I Like it and

Ricky...You never know who just reads these posts and looks at the issues associated. Just as an FYI I looked at your book. I didn't PM You I thought it looked Familiar. I as do most here belong to all the Auction sites and Noticed the book as well. I discussed with a couple of High end buyers on here about your Plight to sell before receipt. Well That and your lack of respect for others on this thread has turned me off. No one was directly Bashing you..it was your practice that brought about the discussion, your responses fueled it into a rage to where it got out of hand. But I will say! It is an enjoyable thread to read.

    :gossip::popcorn::slapfight:

And Bill said right away in my sales thread that it was his book from last night .

So you could have saved yourself all the research. lol

  8. You guys are all .. Firstly I broke no rules and you don't call some of those messages senseless bashing? Saying I am going to take the money from the sale and then pay for the book? That's called being a cause you don't even know me.

Keep this coming lol like I said I find it amusing .. Any one want to see how many pages we can go for??

And You talk about respect.. You have to earn before you get it punk

  9. lol my sales thread really must have been a highlight in your guys week..what is this page 10? .. Still about nothing? Hahaha

All you losers attacking me remind me of the comic guy from Simpsons hahahaha

If I were you, and this is just me speaking, i would drop the subject all together.

By talking about it more, it will reflect more poorly on you and will only shrink your pool of buyers.

I only said my 2c after 10 pages of senseless bashing. I am entitled to that.

And that's okay, the books I deal in are probably out of range for most people talking smack.

    Ricky

  10. I think if someone is selling a book that you are interested I would assume you would do your own due diligence before buying.

If you want the book real bad but the seller tells you it's on the way from comic connect pay me when I ship it out, what's wrong with that? No one is holding a gun to your head to buy it!

Wow people get so worked up for such small things lol

So, the seller doesn't have to do his own "due diligence" in telling a prospective buyer the same thing?

Someone viewing the thread isn't considered a prospective buyer.

Any one who had serious inquiries about the book got serious responses.

    Ricky

Buyer or not, it's a serious question.

Your response tells us all what we need to know, though.

    ;)

    -slym

And yeah all you need to know.. You got it all figured out right detective?
