  1. I see two of them on ebay, and this one in my collection...
  2. The Aquaman movie is nothing like the comic book. It was actually pretty entertaining, until he started commanding whales and fish to help him...
  3. He might have been a lame superhero, but this is an awesome cover...
  4. I need an upgrade, but I think that ship has sailed...
  5. Guess it's time to show a couple EC Christmas covers...
  6. Because you think the name "John Patrick Hayden" is funny...No, seriously though, it's because those printed subscription addresses on the book are nicer than subscription labels, and they were only used for a short period. What do I win?
  7. I really dislike threads like this sometimes. Someone posted a Target: The Corruptors awhile back, and thought it looked like it was a 60s TV show so I looked at Youtube. Now I've wasted 6 hours watching 6 episodes...and I'm not done yet.
  8. I'll tell you what makes 1953 special...it was MY birth year, and all these were on sale the month I was born...
  9. Oh...In mid-Sept I was in CA, also unplugged from the Internet.
  10. If this sale falls through...do you take EBT?
  11. When I saw it at my LCS I didn't realize that high grade copies were so scarce, or so expensive, so I wasn't sure if I got a deal or not when I paid $35 for it...
  12. In Texas...unplugged from the furshluginer Internet... I just looked for your sale and couldn't find it. What did you do, remove it? Don't ever do that...some of us look for older sales to see what was offered... Happy Turkey Day!
  13. I've collected Mad since 1963...so it's not much of a challenge for me anymore. I've upgraded a few issues that were much better than copies I bought in the 60s, but they've always been cheap. That's my rule...Never pay much for a Mad upgrade. The overall demand is just not there for an investment. Here's an example: My original back issue #47 found in the 60s that was either "free" or cost 25cents...And my recent upgrade that cost $7. In 2022 I upgraded dozens of my lower grade issues for only $7-$10 each.
  14. I collect certain Powell books for the covers, and I was not aware of The Avenger. Thanks for mentioning that...
  15. In March and April of 1955 all comics except Dell subscribed to the Comics Code (a censorship entity) so that their books could appear on newsstands and be sold. All subscribers had to put this ugly little Code Symbol on their books. This lasted until about 2011.
