  1. Group shot time...Click on image to enlarge somewhat...
  2. I now have 150 issues with 8 to go...(I don't want all of them)...
  3. Here in the desert we had our Scottsdale Con today (Old Man Con). I found 4 books I wanted...one of them might technically be a SA, but who cares...The Green Lama is low grade, but it presents pretty well, and I have always loved that cover.
  4. And MY copy, bought in 1994 for $1.50 from the OO...Who's winning now?
  5. Kids don't get interested in the past until they aren't kids anymore...
  6. OK, check this out...I discovered that I've been doing something different for a long time. I have boxes full of burnt out light bulbs from the 80s and 90s. The real light bulbs that were much brighter when they worked. These must be worth a fortune now...
  7. Yeah, I had heard that the rarer releases were bringing big bucks, but not that they were being graded. That seems a little weird.
  8. I only have this Hawk cover, but I love the colors on it. Evidently there was a small "find" of these a few years ago because the seller I bought mine from kept listing them for awhile. All were in really nice shape...
  9. Well, of course. Nobody wants to get up and walk to the TV to turn up the sound, rewind or fast forward. That went out in the 60s...
  10. Since the advent of high def DVDs and streaming, VHS has almost disappeared. VHS players are difficult to find. VHS movies are either free or cost 25cents at garage sales. Maybe we should be collecting VHS players for the next wave of nostalgic collecting. I'm already ahead of the game because I own one and have over 300 VHS movies to watch...
  11. I only own that book because it was on the stands the month I was born...
  12. Ah, you DO have a sense of humor. Go back and read my original post and see if you can get the humor this time...
  13. Well, it kinda worked for me when I bought a bunch of romance comics with Matt Baker covers in the 90s...when few collectors knew who he was, or cared.
  14. I did...I just don't know how to find current drivers licenses of people who are going to die...
  15. As comic genres and individual issues get more and more expensive, I think most collectors will just keep grabbing cheap stuff until it rises in value also. Those who have the means will always drive the value of certain expensive comics farther and farther into the stratosphere, but many collectors will rediscover the lesser collected (cheap) books...like Archie, Westerns, Four-color, etc. I would suggest you start grabbing high grade Roy Rogers now...while you still can...You know, there's nuthin' like a good whitlin' cover...
  16. Well, Gee-willikers...I just can't be left out, so here's my turd on a stick copy...
  17. I love posting books in the wrong threads...Here's one of my bronze Bats...
