Apparently each of the Secret Empire issues will have a Campbell 1:50 variant?  (Bulk variant sets up on Frankie's Comics for issues 1-3.)

It's a rare instance when I'll say "nope" to a Campbell variant without even seeing it, even if it's a book I don't read, but my utter disdain for Nick Spencer as a writer & person & my desire to do my part in never buying anything with his name attached to it in hopes that he never gets another Marvel gig again prevents me from supporting even a Campbell variant for this title. Maybe if it was a JSC store exclusive.

  2. X-Men Gold #3 is going to have a JSC variant. I don't know the ratio but DCBS is already charging 4X what the (likely same ratio as Dan Mora variant is.. whoever the hell he is) preorder price for X-Men Blue #3's variant. Dammit... I really don't wanna pony up $50 for the preorder for a variant I haven't even seen yet. But my anal retentive main-X-Men-series complete-ism is demanding I do so.

Wait, inhumans IS happening.  It's just been turned into a show now I thought with the two hour pilot being released as a movie in advance of its premiere.  It's being called "The Royals" now or something like that and is coming our later this year. Right?

As it stands currently, they're doing the 8-episode series with the IMAX release of the 2-hour pilot. Feige has already said that that does NOT mean that the Inhumans movie has been cancelled. Simply that they're doing the TV show NOW. They just don't have a set date for the film, so they've removed it from the slate for the time being. I think they're essentially changing their plan for Phase 4/5 (depends if you consider Phase 3 to end with Infinity War or Avengers 4) in the hopes of getting the FF rights back or something, but also leaving the door open to their original plan as well.

    Does inhumans count?

Maybe? We'll see? I think that one is still up in the air enough because it's technically still happening as a movie sometime around 2020-ish AND as a tv show now? Until the movie gets announced as actually cancelled (instead of just the release date removed during a shuffling back of all the other movies once the Spider-Man rights thing changed the plan) or until we get into 2019 or 2020 or whenever it was scheduled for and we don't see any casting or filming announcements or whatever, I think this is a "wait and see" thing. But as it stands... I don't think we can definitively say "yeah" yet.

But devil's advocate here? Even if it does end up in the "scrapped after being announced" category, that'll end up as something like 25 straight movies to go from development to announcement to release with only Ant-Man so much as seeing a delay (other than the spider-Man rights thing bumping everything back 6 months) before even the first movie got scrapped. That's pretty unprecedented in modern Hollywood, don't you think?

There are people on the boards who have said "confirmed" for a movie or tv show with even less evidence.  Its funny because if this was Kevin Keige this would not be an issue. Head of Fox X-Men films is telling you what they have planned in the future and that's not confirmation but Kevin Feige does the exact same thing and no one flinches. The same situation happened 3 years ago when Fox mentioned Gambit, New Mutants and X-Force movies planned in the future and same people who are now questioning me said 'confirmed".

One of those people has credibility of everything he's said is happening has happened. The other says we're working on these projects & years later, there's been virtually zero movement on those projects. Feige has yet to promise a movie & not deliver. Fox has had how many X-movies that they've talked about being forthcoming or in development or whatever and nothing has happened thus far? X-Force. New Mutants. Gambit (since the 1st Wolverine movie). Magneto Origins solo movie (most of the ideas floated for it got co-opted into First Class)

Basically, there's no "stuck in development hell" after an announcement of it being worked on with Marvel Studios under Feige. There IS the traditional hollywood development hell at FOX. So confirmation from one guy means "it's happening" and confirmation from the other guy means "well, we're working on it & something that sorta looks like it but will probably end up totally different might eventually make it to the big screen in the next decade"

As for the other dude that dropped all the X-Titles being confirmed, some are speculated as def happening but not straight up confirmed, Yes.  We can't take Blink being cast as a def for Exiles-she was also Generation X first and foremost....Now this is my speculation but that X-Men TV show description sounds like a twist and play of Gen X.. Mr Sinister has been confirmed for a future X-Men related movie though by Kinberg. Who needs links when you can Google? Laziness lol sheesh. What Culture, Movie Pilot, and Comicbookmovie.com are the 1st 3 to pop up all confirming Sinister will be in a future X-Men movie from Simon Kinberg. All this stuff can be fact checked doing simple searches...

99% sure that Fox has already stated that the Blink casting was for the as-yet-untitled X-Men tv show that's replacing the never-got-past-development-even-though-it-was-announced Hellfire Club show. And based on the description, it's not going to be an Exiles show (as much as I'd love it to be), but rather an "on the run from the law" type show. I could see that as a variation on Generation X, but I could also see it as a Morlocks show. It sounds more A-Team than Quantum Leap/Sliders.

Though I will disagree that Blink was Generation X first & foremost... considering she never survived Phalanx Covenant to even reach Generation X #1, it's hard for me to consider her more connected to Generation X (a title she never appeared in once) than Exiles (a title she appeared in almost 100 issues of). She appeared in more issues of New Mutants than she did Generation X as well. But that's just me being pedantic.

What in the world is going on with those Hulk #1 Ed McGuiness variants?  I remember when these were selling for $10-20 each.  Now people are paying $300+?

Dunno, but thinking about parting with mine soon if these prices keep up. I like the book but I don't like it that much.

Are we talking about a raw book or are we talking about a CGC graded book?

What condition is the CGC book ? 9.8's are pretty much indiscernible from one another however the appearance of a 3.5 can range greatly.

With comic books I will say it depends.

However, if I go to a show and see something there that is readily available elsewhere (a current Lego set), I will ask, can you match this price?  If not I have no problem ordering it and waiting the two days from Amazon and it saves me the trouble of lugging it around the con.

I will tell you what IS annoying and I have mentioned it here.   I find it ridiculous that certain vendors charge a NY or Comic Con tax.  If you the vendor have the item readily available on your website or in your eBay store at say $70 shipped with free shipping, I am not paying you $85 at the con.  Don't even try to convince me that is your best price because it obviously isn't.  I will walk away and order it on my phone and you can ship that item to me when you get back.

Honestly? With the kind of brazenness of asking me to pay some sort of "con tax", I might be a big enough richard to order it on my phone in front of their face. Especially if paying with PayPal.

  9. Aspen didn't come into being until the mid-00's. Turner & Steigerwald were still with Top Cow back then. They broke off to do their own thing in the mid-00's.

But for a company that's been around for about 12 years or so now, they're doing pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking but between variant contracts with other publishers & a handful of ok-selling books (I really wish I could have seen how Turner planned to finish Soulfire) for a 3rd tier publisher, they're doing pretty well.

  10. Or maybe we get really lucky & find out that the last like... say... 10-11 years? of the Marvel universe have been a Franklin Richards fever dream from the Skrull Flu or something & when his fever breaks, everything reverts back; all the dumb legacy characters, all the poorly thought out events, all of the really bad plots & their gaping plot holes, and all of the awful editorial decisions (like Steve Rogers being a secret Nazi for 70 years) just vanish. We realize that even that the whole world has been reset to about 2 weeks before the first Marvel Civil War & none of the dumb feces that's been slowly strangling Marvel for the past near-dozen years happens. They go full-on "Bobby Ewing stepping out of the shower" with the past near-dozen years & everyone kinda breathes a sign of relief as a result.

    A full address sound reasonable.

What if a sham seller opens a box at one those postal stores for $10 and sends himself an AF #15.

Proof of delivery to city and zip looks good and someone gets screwed out 15K

This is not an unreasonable demand to include a full address.

While the hypothetical that you posit true, that's a loophole in PayPal's policy. Their current policy states that city & zip is sufficient. If they'd like to close that loophole, they are welcome to change their policy. But until they do, asking someone to go above their own policy requirements is unreasonable.

It's like a lot of other things in life... I don't care if the law or the rule or whatever isn't fair. It is what it is. Demanding that it be ignored on a case-by-case basis or outright in favor of a more fair outcome is unreasonable. Change or repeal the stupid rule/law. Don't complain about the outcome and not change the stupid rule/law. Virtually nobody will care about if the rule gets changed. But ignoring it when it suits a purpose or an outcome is unfortunate without making any changes to fix the problem is when people start arguing.

Bottom line? Entities or people or whatever can change the rules when a glaring hole is found. But if they don't take the initiative to change them, then they need to abide by them as they're written.

  12. I refuse to read anything with Nick Spencer's name attached because he's a hack that couldn't write his way out of a wet paper bag.

So after the first issue, I've been waiting for someone with actual talent to take the book over again. Similar to when Brubaker did. If they could find a good crime writer to take it over, that would be spectacular.

  13. Collectorz CLZ app. Just throw what I have in my collection & anything I'm on the hunt for in the "wish list" portion & it's done. Eats up a lot of memory if you have a big collection (10k+ books between collection & wishlist uses about 1.2GB on my phone) but it's absolutely worth it. Crowd sourced database, so rare stuff sometimes doesn't even show up if nobody has made the effort to add it, but you can add it if you know it exists. I use the phone app for adding/editing things on the account & then I'll do some of the more in-depth functions that are only available on the desktop version when I get to my laptop at home later (mostly organizational stuff)
